ow! What a season footy fans have enjoyed. Once again, Manchester City and Liverpool have been fighting it out to be crowned Premier League champions. Meanwhile in Scotland, it’s been business as usual with Old Firm rivals, Celtic and Rangers, sitting in the top two spots. This weekend, the eyes of the footballing world will be set on Wembley to watch Chelsea take on Liverpool in the FA Cup Final – which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. Reigning World and European Champions Chelsea will be hoping for a better result than the last time they faced Liverpool at Wembley. Back in February they lost an epic penalty shootout, 11–10, and watched Liverpool lift the League Cup for a record ninth time. This is to ho Liverpool’s first FA Cup Final since 2012 when kP c o they lost 2-1 to … you guessed it, Chelsea! Next weekend, football’s focus turns to Hampden Park where Scottish footballing giants, Rangers, go head-to-head with Hearts in the Scottish Cup Final. Rangers and Hearts lie second and third in the Scottish Premiership, but with a large points difference, it’ll be Rangers who are considered the favourites to lift the Scottish Cup for a 34th time. However, this is Hearts’ third Scottish Cup Final in four seasons, so perhaps it’ll be ‘third time lucky’ for the Jam Tarts. Whether you’re a red, a blue, a maroon or a neutral who’ll pick a side to root for on the day of the game, you’re in for a The FA Cup Final kicks off at 4.45pm on Saturday feast of football during the next fortnight. 14 May – you can watch it live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, ITV or STV. The Scottish Cup Final kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 21 May – you can watch it live on BBC One Scotland or BBC iPlayer.
When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was play football. Any spare time I had would be spent kicking a ball. I didn’t need any special equipment – I just needed space and friends to play with. Once we got started, we wouldn’t stop till our mums called us in for our tea. I’m too old and creaky to play properly anymore, so I’m more of a spectator these days. Being a footy fan and watching football is fun, but the real excitement is in actually playing the game. As Christians we need to make sure we’re not just Jesus fans who enjoy watching what’s going on. We have to join in and I don’t mean just singing the songs, saying prayers and following the Bible reading at church. Being a Christian is more like a seven-year-old, football-loving me – it’s about doing your best to be like Jesus all the time.

READ THE COMMENT ABOUT HOW YOU CAN CARE FOR CREATION.
Calling All Creation Champions! says Alicia Begley
I
t’s always been a dream of mine to go on an African safari. I like lots of animals, but I especially love big animals like elephants, giraffes and lions that you might see grazing in the wilderness or running across the savannah. I have stuffed toys of elephants and giraffes and my son even has an elephant-themed bedroom! Some animals live in the wild while others are in places where humans look after them. No matter where creatures live it’s important that we look after creation and protect all habitats. God created us in his own image, which means he wants us to be like him. He asked us to love
and care for creation the way he does – like a Creation Champion. From the tiniest little bug to a giant whale, God created them and loves them. So as followers of Jesus we should try to do what we can to love creation too. But caring for creation means more than just being kind to animals (although that’s super important!). It can mean things like turning off a light switch when you leave a room or recycling what you can. It can even mean picking up rubbish you see in the street and putting it in the bin. Itisn’t always easy but by working together and with God’s help we can protect all of his wonderful creation.
You’re Unbe-leaf-able! Using the prompts below, write down the things you can do to care for these areas of creation and be a Creation Champion this week.

How well do you know your Bible heroes? Can you name the boy who took on a giant or the girl who watched over her little brother as he sailed down the stream in a basket? The Bible is filled with amazing stories of ordinary people who, with God’s help, did extraordinary things. So read the clues below and guess who this week’s Bible hero is!

While I was in hiding, God told ravens to bring me bread and meat to eat twice a day. On Mount Carmel, I challenged 400 prophets of Baal to see who worshipped the true God. We both prepared a sacrifice – nothing happened when they prayed, but when I prayed, God answered by sending fire to burn up the offering.
I was staying with a widow when her son died. I prayed to God and her son came back to life.

Summertime has arrived and we’ve already enjoyed plenty of lovely weather. In fact, the weather has been perfect for getting out and about in the world. Nature is starting to flourish and there’s so much to see – so why not spend some time outdoors filled with laughter, excitement and adventure. Did you know that being outdoors is really good for you? The sun gives us vitamins which help our bones, teeth and muscles to grow and be healthy. Sunshine can also improve your concentration and improve your sleep. Spending time outdoors can reduce feelings of stress and help you to feel more relaxed. You can connect with nature and your local community, and you may even make some new friends.
Fun in the Sun Do you live in the countryside or near the beach? Perhaps you live in a busy city or near the woods. Below are some ideas of things you can do to get outside with friends and family and have fun no matter where you live.
Explore the water
Some beaches have rockpools to explore and other places have ponds wh ere you can try pond dipping. It’s important to stay safe near water, so grab a grown-up to keep an eye on you and see what creatures you can discover in all the tiny nooks and crannies.

Rainy days The Great British weather isn’t always the most reliable, but don’t let it stop your fun. Here are some fun rainy-day ideas.
Enjoy the rain Sing and dance in the rain! You might even find some muddy puddles to jump in.
Rain painting Let nature help you create a masterpiece. Use pens or watercolour paints to create some artwork on paper. Then put it out in the rain and watch the colours swirl and make patterns.
Make a rain gauge Get an empty plastic bottle and ask a grown-up to cut off the top. Add some lines at regular intervals, such as every 2cm and pop your bottle outside. Watch and see how much rain falls each day.
Get out and about 18 May is International Museum Day so why not check out a fun interactive museum? You can search for fun places and events happening near you at kidsinmuseums.org.uk.
Whatever the weather – make sure you enjoy some summer fun during the next few months.
