When Belle Bottom asks Gru, ‘You seriously think a puny little child can be a villain?’ it’s all he needs to get going and prove her wrong. I’m the youngest in my family and when I was a kid I hated being told I couldn’t do things because I was too small or too young. Like Gru, hearing those words would make me try my hardest to show I could do whatever I’d been told I couldn’t. I’m not going to tell you that you can do anything – there are some things people (even grown-ups) just can’t do. And I’m defo not suggesting you do anything bad to prove others wrong. But never be put off trying to do something by people saying you’re too small or too young. God has given you a big bundle of gifts, skills and talents. Never be afraid to use them to do good things.

READ THE COMMENT BELOW ABOUT MAKING A DIFFERENCE
You Can Change Things for the Better
I
once had a cool dream about an orange and purple brontosaurus dancing in a field of yellow daisies. I woke up with a big smile on my face! I’ve also had dreams that made me feel sad or worried. Once, when my brother was going through quite a tough time, I had a dream that God rescued him from a storm at sea and brought his boat safely to shore. That gave me peace and helped me to pray for my brother. And God did help him! Isn’t that awesome? In this week’s Bible cartoon the king of Babylon had a strange dream that worried him. He demanded that the wise men in the land tell him the dream and what it meant.
says Melita Day-Lewis
No one had a clue what was in the king’s dream. However, when Daniel and his friends prayed, God showed Daniel the dream and its meaning. The king ended up praising God for the wisdom he had given Daniel. He also made Daniel and his friends important leaders in the land. Daniel trusted God and God used him to change things for the better. You might not be asked to interpret a weird dream for a king, but every follower of Jesus can make a big difference! When we pray about things, he helps us to change things for the better. Is there a difficult situation at home or school you know about? Perhaps your prayers or kind actions could make all the difference!

Huge crowds will line the streets to see the world’s best cyclists battle through 21 different stages. Riders are split into different teams, each containing several riders. The peloton (group of riders) will face challenges such as six mountain stages, two individual time trials and seven hilly stages. All before the Tour ends on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
Who’s Who
e
July means one thing for cycling fans – the Tour de France! This epic and difficult bicycle race is held every year. This year it’s happening from 1–24 July and started in Copenhagen, Denmark. That might sound a little confusing, but the Tour often travels into other countries near France. This year the race will go through Denmark, France, Belgium and Switzerland.

The favourite for this year’s race is Tadej Pogacar from Slovenia. Despite only being 23 years old he’s won the last two Tour De France competitions and is hoping for a hat-trick of yellow jerseys. The yellow jersey is worn by the current leader of the race and given to the overall winner at the end. However, Tadej will face tough opposition from fellow Slovenian Primoz Roglic, British favourite Geraint Thomas and Colombian star Daniel Martinez.

If you fancy watching these incredible athletes in action, you can watch live coverage on Eurosport, ITV4 and S4C (Wales). There’ll also be a highlights show every evening.

I Want to Ride My Bicycle While watching the Tour de France is brilliant, we hope you’ll be inspired to get on your bike too! Cycling is a great way for you and your whole family to exercise. Whether you’re a first-time rider or want to get back into cycling, here’s what you’ll need.
A Bike Without Stabilisers Stabilisers can be useful to learn how to pedal. However, the most important part of riding is learning to balance the bike. So if you ditch them you can practise getting that balancing skill. Lightweight bikes make riding easier, but you can still ride whatever bike you have. Just make sure the bike is the right size for you. Visit a bike shop to ask for advice if needed.
A Helmet
Knee and Elbow Pads
Before you get pedalling, you’ll need a helmet that fits your head properly. A bike shop can advise you on this too.
These help protect you if you experience a few tumbles while learning … or when you get more adventurous!
Go! Go! Go! Once you have everything you need, go somewhere quiet with flat, straight paths to practise. With a bit of help from your parents or carers, you’ll soon be feeling confident. Cycling Weekly suggests that it only takes around 45 minutes in total for a child to learn to ride. So a few 5 to 10-minute sessions through the summer and you’ll be away! For loads more tips and advice, visit readysetride.co.uk.
Bikeability If you’re already a bike rider and want to take your riding to the next level, check out Bikeability. It’s the government’s national cycle training programme. It helps people learn practical skills and understand how to cycle on roads. Although the programme is aimed mainly at children, they also offer adult and family courses.
Many children will take part in Bikeability at school when they’re between seven and twelve years old. Ask your school to see if this is something they offer. If it’s not available or you don’t want to wait, your parents or carers can book a course at bikeability.org.uk.
Get Going Once you’ve got your bike-riding skills polished think of all the places you can go exploring! Whether it’s bike or skate parks, forest trails, beautiful coastline tracks or lakeside loops, have fun exploring the great outdoors on your bike.
