In the rainforest there are giant trees, beautiful waterfalls and more wildlife than you could possibly imagine! A baby orangutan called Ozi lives there with her mother and father –until one terrifying day changes everything. Ozi’s home is completely destroyed. The trees are burnt to the ground and Ozi is separated from her parents! Ozi is adopted by a kind human called Kirani. As Ozi grows up it becomes clear that she’s not like any ordinary orangutan. She can use sign language and with some special technology attached to her arm, she can even speak to humans! In fact she’s so good at speaking to humans that she becomes a social media infuencer. She teaches millions of people tons of amazing life hacks (tips or tricks for everyday tasks).
IN CINEMAS SOON
One day, Ozi discovers that her parents might be living in a massive building near where her home used to be. Joined by a monkey called Chance and a friendly rhinoceros called Honkus, Ozi sets out on a crazy quest to reunite with her parents. It’s an adventure that gets Ozi into lots of trouble! She even has to deal with an angry crocodile called Smiley.
By the end of Ozi: Voice of the Forest, Ozi will have discovered that humans can do some really terrible things. However, she’ll also discover that when she speaks out, people will listen!
Ozi: Voice of the Forest is about the importance of taking care of the world’s forests. Deforestation isn’t just a problem in Ozi’s world, it’s a problem in ours too. That’s not our world’s only problem either. There’s rubbish in the rivers, seas and oceans, which can hurt the wildlife that lives there. There’s also too much pollution and it’s causing weather issues. God created our world for us and it’s a very precious gift. God put humans in charge of taking care of our wonderful world, but we’re not doing the best job. How would you feel if you gave someone a lovely gift and they didn’t take care of it?
Spend some time this week thinking about ways you can help God’s creation. There are some ideas on pages 12 and 13 to get you started. Show God how much you appreciate his precious gift by taking care of it!
Read the comment below about how God shows forgiveness
Choose to Forgive!
If I wanted to visit my sister, Lara, I’d have to hop on a plane and take a long fight! That’s because she lives in a country called Albania! I love my sister but because she lives so far away, I don’t see her very often. However, when I do get to see her it’s always a very happy reunion.
In this week’s Bible cartoon, Joseph had a reunion with his brothers that should have been anything but happy! Joseph’s brothers had sold him into slavery but now he was the second-most powerful man in Egypt. Joseph could do anything he wanted to get his own back!
Joseph could have had his brothers thrown into a well. He could have turned them into slaves. He could have sent them to prison. Instead, Joseph
chose to forgive them! He turned a family reunion that should have been terrible into one that was happy.
Is there anyone in your life that God wants you to forgive? Perhaps they’ve hurt your feelings. Maybe they’ve said nasty things about you. You might want to get your own back, but God loves it when you choose to be like Joseph. He loves it when you choose to show forgiveness.
In fact, God chooses to show forgiveness to us too! We all do bad things sometimes and we should be in trouble for them. Instead, if we say sorry to God for all the wrong things we do, he forgives us! He shows love to us, just like Joseph showed love to his brothers.

Tasty Task
One of the ways that Joseph showed love to his brothers was by giving them food during a famine! Figure out the first letter of each of these foody pictures. Then put the letters in the right order to discover the key word of today’s Bible cartoon!

Bumper Bible Breakdown
Did you know the Bible isn’t one big book? It’s actually 66 books put together to tell one big story of God’s great love. Join us as we look at each Bible book and discover why God made the world, what went wrong and how in the end God saved the world through his son, Jesus.
Chariot of Fire
After the death of Ahab and his son, Ahaziah, Elijah travelled to the River Jordan. He was joined by his servant, Elisha. Elijah tried to get Elisha to stay behind but Elisha wouldn’t leave him!
When they reached the River Jordan, 50 prophets stood nearby. They knew what was about to happen. Elijah took off his cloak, rolled it up and struck the water with it. The river parted and Elijah and Elisha walked through it to the other side.
Once they had crossed the river, Elijah asked Elisha if there was anything that Elisha wanted. Elisha said that he wanted to carry on doing what Elijah had been doing, with all the strength that Elijah had.
As they were talking, a chariot of fre appeared and separated the pair! Then Elijah went up to Heaven in a whirlwind! Now Elisha would serve God as a prophet, just as Elijah had done.

Optical illusions use colour, light or patterns to confuse our brains – that means the illusions look different to what is actually there.
Have a look at this image of loads of leaves. The pattern makes it look like the leaves are moving or swaying in a breeze! They’re not moving, it’s just an illusion – you can stop them moving by concentrating on just one leaf.

Caring For Wildlife
Have you checked out page 3 of this week’s issue yet? If you have then you’ve already met Ozi the orangutan, the main character of Ozi: Voice of the Forest!
Ozi fghts to save her forest from deforestation (getting cut down), but the destruction of habitats isn’t just something that happens in flms! It happens in real life too!
Habitat Harmers
Humans are great at so many things. We’re great at making stuff, thanks to our smart thumbs. We’re great at talking, thanks to our clever brains.
Humans are also experts at doing some really bad things. Every year, humans cut down 15 billion trees! As a result, lots of habitats are destroyed and animals are left homeless. Humans also create lots of pollution, which can damage habitats.
Animals At Risk
There are two different days this week to learn all about a couple of animal species that are at risk. These animals aren’t like hedgehogs, foxes or badgers because their natural habitat isn’t in the United Kingdom! However, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t care about the threats that they’re facing.
World Lion Day
They’re big, they’re furry and they’ve got sharp teeth – lions are totally paw-some! However, they’re also in danger! There are only about 23,000 lions left in the wild. Plus, they’re being hunted by humans.
It’s World Lion Day today (10 August) which means that it’s the perfect opportunity to learn all about the kings of the jungle. To fnd out some fab lion facts, head to wwf.org.uk/learn/fascinating-facts/lions
World Elephant Day
With their long trunks, curly tusks and foppy ears, elephants are beautiful animals! However, elephants are in danger, just like lions! Elephants are regularly killed so that people can sell their tusks.
It’s World Elephant Day on Monday (12 August). Once you’ve fnished learning about lions, head on over to wwf.org.uk/learn/fascinating-facts/elephants to fnd out all about elephants!
What Can You Do?
Elephants and lions live in the wild in Africa and Asia, but there are also lots of animals that live in the UK that need your help!
Here are a few ideas for how you can care for wildlife, whether that’s by looking after animals or by preventing pollution.
Wildlife Protectors
Learn how to make a bird feeder by visiting chesterzoo.org/schools/resources/how-to-make-yoghurt-pot-feeders
When you go for a walk in the countryside, stick to the paths that are already there. Then you won’t have to worry about destroying habitats.
Don’t drop litter on the ground when you’re out and about. Animals can get really hurt by rubbish.
Create a log pile for beetles to live in. Collect some sticks, small logs and rotting wood. Then put them in a pile in a damp part of your garden and cover them with old leaves.
Pollution Preventers
Walking or riding your bike creates way less air pollution than being driven in a car. So instead of sitting in a car, put on your trainers and get active!
Whenever you use water, that water has to be cleaned. Cleaning water actually creates pollution, so you should try to save water where you can. Defnitely don’t leave the tap running when you’re brushing your teeth!
Be like Ozi by caring for wildlife!
Super Story
This lovely story from Aurora, aged 9, is all about a kind vet who looks after a creature in need.
Once there was a dragon vet and she was looking in the forest for injured dragons. Then she heard a dragon crying! She got closer to the dragon but it tried to run away because it was scared. But its paw hurt too much, so she took the dragon to her vet hospital.
She wiped the paw with a frst aid wipe and wrapped its paw with a bandage. She gave it some medicine for it to feel better. The vet checked to see what type the dragon was and it was an earth type!
A few weeks passed and the dragon was feeling better. They practised his elements. First they tested all the natural disasters, then all the types of wind, rain, sun and more. A few years later he was healthy and old enough to be sent back into the wild.
When she was heading back home from sending the dragon back into the wild, it came back to the vet! The dragon became the vet’s dragon companion, and then they were happy.
