The final minute of two football games today (25 May) will probably be very tense. Fans will be sat on the edge of their seats. Then when the 90 minutes, extra time or even the penalty shoot-out are over, the winning fans will go bananas. Some fans might roar like lions or jump out of their chairs. A few fans might even do a funny little dance!
Today is a big day for football as it’s the FA Cup Final and Scottish Cup Final! In what’s known as the Manchester derby, rivals Manchester United and Manchester City will play to bring home the FA Cup. The FA Cup Final will take place at Wembley Stadium, underneath the famous arch!
This afternoon will also see the final game of the Scottish Cup. The top two teams in Scotland, Celtic and Rangers, will go head-to-head in the Old Firm derby! Hampden Park will be packed full of supporters, all hoping to see their team come out on top.
Whether you’re a fan of ‘the beautiful game’ or just want to watch something super exciting on the telly, these games are definitely worth checking out! When you see that the game is all over, you might even find yourself dancing!
In a football team all the players have different jobs to do and they have to work together for the team to be successful. Nobody would win a trophy if all the players tried to be strikers, would they? Imagine how many goals they’d let in!
God’s family is a team too! In the Bible it says that just like our bodies are made up of several parts, God’s team needs lots of different people to work at its best. (You can read this in 1 Corinthians 12:12–31). Some of us might be great at making music and others might be good at making new people feel welcome. Some of us might be fantastic at talking to others about how awesome God is, while others are better at organising events. What skills or talents do you have? How can you use them to help make God’s team be super successful?

DToo Busy for Jesus?
o you live in a busy city, a quiet village or .somewhere in between? I once lived in New York, which might be the busiest city in the world! Everyone has somewhere important to go. Everyone walks very fast to get there, so don’t get in their way! Only tourists stand still. They get in everyone’s way, but they’re the only ones who really notice how beautiful New York is.
Our lives can get very busy – school, football, dance practice, friends, homework. These things keep us rushing around. Church can be like that too. We might rush from singing practice to fnd our friends. Then rush to get a seat or go to Sunday school before rushing home. It sometimes seems like we never stop. However, when we’re rushing around, do we see Jesus in between
all the busyness?
Read the comment below about being busy
In this week’s Bible cartoon, Martha thought the best way to serve Jesus was by being busy. She had lots of things to tidy, cook, clean and get ready – so much stuff that she told Jesus off! Why didn’t he tell Mary to help her? But Jesus told her that the important thing isn’t to be busy – it’s to spend time with him.
Sometimes we all need to stop rushing around and just spend time with Jesus. We can stand still and notice the beautiful world God made. We can pause before church to get ready to hear Jesus. We can stop to pray and read our Bibles.
What keeps you busy? When can you stop to spend time with Jesus?

Can you find Jesus in each of the busy images below?

Bumper Bible Breakdown
Did you know the Bible isn’t one big book? It’s actually 66 books put together to tell one big story of God’s great love. Join us as we look at each Bible book and discover why God made the world, what went wrong and how in the end God saved the world through his son, Jesus.
Divide and Conquer
Joshua and the Israelites successfully defeated the nations living in Canaan. God had told Joshua to be bold and courageous. God had also promised to fght for the Israelites as long as they faithfully followed the laws Moses had taught them. Their frst victory was at Jericho. Following God’s instructions, the priests and the army marched once around the city walls, with the Ark of the Covenant, for six days. On the seventh day, they marched around three times, blew their trumpets, gave a loud shout and the city’s walls came tumbling down! After conquering some of the nations, Joshua divided the land fairly between the 12 tribes. God’s promise to Abraham was fnally happening. Just before he died, Joshua strongly encouraged the Israelites to stay faithful to God, so that they could remain blessed in their new land. The people listened and promised to follow God.

Optical illusions use colour, light or patterns to confuse our brains – that means the illusions look different to what is actually there.
Take a look at the blue lines – are they wonky or straight? Now use a ruler to check. They’re straight, aren’t they? They only look wonky because of the black and white lines behind them.

Living a healthy and an active lifestyle and caring for your physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
RideLondon-Essex 100
Tomorrow morning (26 May) cyclists from all around the United Kingdom will be gearing up for an intense event. Hopefully they’ll have had an early night so that they’re not too ‘tyred’ and tucked into a giant ‘brake-fast’. They’re going to need it, because they’ll be participating in the RideLondon-Essex 100!
More than 25,000 cyclists will be taking to the road to ride around 100 miles following a route that will take them all the way from London to Essex – and then all the way back again! These cyclists won’t just be taking part because they’re crazy about bicycles. Just like runners in the London Marathon, some cyclists will be raising money for lots of different charities! Some cyclists will be raising money for The Salvation Army (who publish Kids Alive!).
Crazy Cycle Creations
Bicycles have actually been about for a very long time. Many people believe the frst bicycle was invented in 1817 by inventor Karl von Drais. He called it the ‘running machine’, but it was also known as a ‘dandy horse’ and a ‘swiftwalker’! Drais’s running machine was made out of wood and it didn’t have any pedals!
In 1871 James Starley added pedals to his new bicycle, but even that genius inventor didn’t get everything right! These bicycles, called penny-farthings, had giant front wheels so they were very hard to handle!
It took up until 1885 for the bicycles that we know and love today to be created –but what an amazing creation they are. It’s estimated that there are around one billion bicycles in the world today! That’s about as many bikes as there are cars!
Bicycle Benefits
The cyclists taking part in RideLondon-Essex 100 will probably be incredibly healthy – and that’s because cycling is actually really good for you!
Cycling can help to reduce the risks of illnesses such as heart disease and can help to make your lungs stronger. It also increases the blood fow to your brain, so it’s good for your noggin!
Cycling’s not only great for your body. It’s great for your mental health too! It can boost your mood, which can help you to feel a bit less stressed or anxious.

Helmets On!
Riding more than 100 miles might not sound like fun to you. However, we think it would be a great idea for you to hop on your bicycles and give cycling a chance! You don’t have to go on super long rides to have lots of fun on a bike.
If you have a bicycle, why not ask your parents or carers to go on a bike ride with you? Make sure that you wear a helmet and that you listen to what your parents or carers tell you to do. Cycling is brilliant, but it’s important that you stay safe whilst doing it.
For more safety tips to follow when out on a bicycle, visit safekids.org/bicycle
‘Wheely’ Great Ideas

What can you expect with 12 children, 11 brass instruments and a drum kit? To start with, probably a lot of noise ... that quickly turns into music! Based at Morley Salvation Army, children come from nearby Salvation Army churches and the local community to make music. Most of the kids had never played an instrument before last September. Since then, they have met each week with a group of enthusiastic helpers to play together and to listen to a thought based on that week’s Kids Alive!
Band Basics Cool Colourings
Daisy-Mae has sent us this beautiful Valentine’s Day Card! We love the colourful fags and rainbow heart.
As the children play, their parents and carers chat over a cup of tea. This group, known as Band Basics, is a way of introducing children to music making and Jesus! This picture shows Band Basics taking part in St George’s Day celebrations on Morley High Street. Members of Morley Salvation Army supported the group by talking to the people who stopped to listen.
