he men’s Six Nations tournament kicked off yesterday (2 February) when France went head-to-head with last year’s champions, Ireland. Today there’s even more rugger action to enjoy! Italy face England at 2.15pm, before Wales host Scotland at 4.45pm. As well as the Championship Trophy for the winner of the overall tournament, there is plenty of other silverware to compete for. A team that wins all its games can win the Grand Slam, and the Triple Crown goes to one of the home nations (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales) if one of them wins all three of their matches against the others. There are also seven other cups or trophies up for grabs for various different individual matches. Can Ireland win two tournaments on the trot or is it Scotland’s time to shine? Will England improve on last year’s disappointment or will Wales’s young team exceed expectations? Will the trophy end up in French hands or will Italy end up top of the table for the first time? Let’s find out! TV coverage of the Six Nations in the UK will be split between BBC and ITV. Wales’s matches will also be shown on S4C. Coverage in the Republic of Ireland will be split between RTÉ and Virgin Media.
I like rugby, but I don’t mind admitting that sometimes I find it a bit confusing. I’ve been to watch a few matches at Twickenham, but because I didn’t grow up watching or playing rugby, I forget some of the rules or terms used. That’s why I used to enjoy going to matches with a rugby-mad friend – he could explain everything that was happening on the pitch to me. I also don’t mind admitting that sometimes I find the Bible a little confusing. When there’s something I don’t understand, I’m really grateful that I know plenty of people who can help me make sense of it. If you’re like me and there’s something in the Bible that you’re finding confusing, why don’t you chat to your Sunday school or church leaders? I’m sure they’d love to help you learn more about the Bible and being a Christian.

What a Wonderful World Have you watched Seven Worlds, One Planet? It’s a BBC TV programme that features David Attenborough. If you haven’t seen it, it’s still available on BBC iPlayer or you can get a feel for it by watching the trailer on YouTube – search for ‘Seven Worlds, One Planet: Extended Trailer’. I love watching nature programmes because they always remind me how wonderful our world is. From the highest mountains to the deepest seas and the largest whale to the tiniest insect, our world is truly breathtaking. This week’s Bible cartoon is all about God creating our wonderful world. In the first five days he created all sorts of different things, including the Sun, the Moon, plants and creatures of the sea and sky. But he didn’t do it all in one day, he put each part together separately, just like when you do a jigsaw. On their own, each piece of the puzzle wouldn’t have been much, but when it all comes together it makes a world full of creativity, colour and beauty. In the creation story, it often tells us that God looks at what he’s created and sees that it’s good. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s so much more than good. It’s absolutely fantastic and we should always remember to be thankful to God for creating it for us.

Optical illusions use colour, light or patterns to confuse our brains – that means the illusions look different to what is actually there. Which yellow line on the train tracks do you think is wider? Mo st people will say the top one, but they’re actually exactly the same length. Your brain just thin ks the top one is longer because it covers the width of the tracks.

Children’s Mental Health Week Taking care of our mental health is so important. That’s why Place2Be organise Children’s Mental Health Week every year. The aim of this special week is to empower, equip and give a voice to all children and young people in the UK. That includes you!
What Is Mental Health? We all have mental health. It affects how we think, feel and behave. Our mental health is similar to our physical health, because both can have their ups and downs. Both also need taking care of to make sure they’re in top shape. Good mental health can mean we feel confident and positive, manage daily stress and cope with change. When our mental health takes a dip, this could mean we feel lonely, sad, anxious, scared or worried a lot.
My Voice Matters The theme for Children’s Mental Health Week this year is My Voice Matters and it’s all about providing young people with the tools they need to express themselves. Organisers hope that by the end of the week, all children taking part will be able to say ‘My Voice Matters’ and truly believe it!
Dealing with Feelings Here are some tips from children just like you. They have all had ups and downs with their mental health and told Place2Be some of the things that helped them when they were struggling. Ask for help from teachers, parents, carers, siblings or other family members. Keep telling people until someone listens. Remember you’re not alone – everyone goes through tough times.

Stay calm. Take some deep breaths or find somewhere to sit quietly for two minutes.
Go outside and get some exercise to make yourself feel stronger.
Think of your favourite things and write them down.
Spend time with your family and friends (or pets!).
Write a diary to keep track of your emotions.
Stay positive and focus on the things that make you happy.
Helping Others Place2Be have some top tips for helping others too! Here are some things you can say to help others who are struggling.
Do you want to be my friend? Do you want to play? I’m here for you. Shall we tell a grown-up? Would you like me to find your friends?
What Matters to You? Being creative is great for your mental well-being (check out page 11 of this week’s issue for a cool colouring!). Whether it’s drawing, writing, colouring or crafting, they’re all great ways to relax and relieve stress or anxiety. They’re also good ways to explore and express feelings.
Place2Be have a creative activity for Children’s Mental Health Week that can help you explore what matters to you. You draw a swirl on a piece of paper then write, draw or stick things on that show what matters most to you. Check out childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk/families/what-matters-to-you-activity-for-4-11-year-olds.

Cool Colourings Jessica, age 5, created this cool Racing Cars Colouring. We love the bold colours – they would look great as the cars whizz past.
This Time Travel Colouring was sent to us by Otis, age 5. Otis says he would like to go back in time to his fifth birthday, because his mummy baked him a green ninja cake.
Check out this Pukka Panto Colouring. It was sent by Kaitlyn, age 11, and she’s done a great job colouring the picture so neatly.
Zoja, age 10, also sent us a Time Travel Colouring. They’ve featured the ancient Egyptians – what a wonderful job they’ve done with their drawing!
Here’s another Pukka Panto Colouring. We love the rainbow colours that Finn, age 4, has used!
