The Salvation Army is a Christian church and registered charity.

The charity number in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is 214779, in Scotland SC009359 and in the Republic of Ireland CHY6399. ISSN 1363-5662.

Today (6 July) is the third day of the 2024 British Grand Prix, which is part of the FIA Formula One World Championship. Supported by lots of mechanics and super-clever crews, 10 teams of 2 drivers have been preparing for 1 big race. Tomorrow (7 July) is race day and every driver will be competing to cross the chequered fnish line before anyone else!

The main race will take place at the Silverstone Circuit and will consist of 52 laps – but each lap won’t last very long. Drivers will reach speeds of up to 230 miles per hour! Even though they’ll be going faster than a cheetah wearing roller skates, drivers will also have to pay plenty of attention. Some of the best racing drivers in the world, such as Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton, will be out on the track and they’ll be looking for any opportunity to sneak into

The winner of the British Grand Prix will be awarded a big, shiny trophy. They’ll also win 25 points, which will be added to their overall Formula One score. That will give the driver an even better shot at winning the Formula One World Championship! So buckle your seat belts and prepare for a heart-thumping weekend of exciting racing!

You’ll be able to watch the main race of the 2024 British Grand Prix live at 4pm on Channel 4 or Sky Sports F1. Sky Sports F1 will also be showing the practice and qualifying rounds too.

I love it when Formula One drivers go into the pits. The teams work so fast! In 2023 the McLaren team even got Lando Norris in and out of the pits in just 1.8 seconds, breaking the world record! Teamwork is so important in Formula One. The drivers might be the stars, but they couldn’t win even one race without their team supporting them.

Kids Alive! team needs plenty of top teamwork too. We try to support and encourage each other in everything we do, so we can all be the best we can be.

You’re probably in lots of different teams, whether it’s a sports team or club, your class, your family or your church. Have a look around – is there anyone that you think might need some extra support and encouragement this week? Maybe God wants you to help them to be the best they can be!

Read the comment on the right about not judging others

No Judgement Here

In this week’s Bible cartoon Jesus tells a story. Jesus liked telling stories, because they were a really interesting way to help people learn how to live. He used the story in this week’s Bible cartoon to explain to people that they shouldn’t judge others for making mistakes. He said that before we judge others for the things they do wrong, we should look at our own behaviour.

Have you ever been a bit mean to someone else? Maybe you’ve laughed at a mistake they’ve made or told them you don’t want to be their friend anymore. I’m sure there have also been situations where others haven’t been nice to you. We all know that being mean to others is wrong, but no matter how hard we try to be good, we will all sometimes make mistakes.

The other part of this week’s Bible story involves forgiveness. Jesus said that we should forgive others for the things that they do wrong. That doesn’t mean if someone hurts you that you should ignore it. You should still tell a grown-up if someone does something that’s wrong. However, you can still forgive them and move on. If we can do that, then Jesus will show us the same forgiveness for our mistakes.

Being a friend of Jesus doesn’t mean that you’ll always get everything right. No person is perfect. However, it’s important that we do our best to show kindness, love and forgiveness to everyone. It might not always be easy, but Jesus can help us if we talk to him.

Bumper Bible Breakdown

Did you know the Bible isn’t one big book? It’s actually 66 books put together to tell one big story of God’s great love. Join us as we look at each Bible book and discover why God made the world, what went wrong and how in the end God saved the world through his son, Jesus.

God’s Promise to David

After Saul’s death, David became king. With God’s help, David successfully defeated the Israelites’ enemies. David captured Jerusalem and made it the central place for worship.

Next, David brought the Ark of the Covenant from Judah to Jerusalem. During the journey, David danced his heart out and offered an abundance of sacrifces in worship to God.

However, David felt bad – he lived in a nice home while the Ark of God was kept in a tent. So he decided to build God a house too. However, God told David not to worry – instead he made David many promises.

God told David that one of his sons would build the house for him and that there would always be someone from his family ruling as king. God also promised that David’s kingdom would last for ever. These promises were fulflled frst in Solomon and then in Jesus.

Cool Colourings

Check out this fantastic Women’s FA Cup Final Colouring sent to us by Ria-Sophie, aged 7. The pink football boots are a great touch. Well done, Ria-Sophie!

Take a look at this eggs-tra special Happy Easter Colouring from Hannah, aged 5. Hannah’s coloured in the fowers, heart and letters so neatly.

Super Story

Matilda, aged 9, has written a magnifcent story packed full of mischievous Minions, which are the little creatures that work for Gru in Despicable Me!

This fantastic (and very red) Women’s FA Cup Final Colouring was sent to us by Zoë, aged 8. We love that the football kit and the football are the same colour!

Once there was a boy called Bob. Bob was a Minion. Minions are the craziest thing on the whole Earth! One day Bob met Bobette who was also a Minion. Bob and Bobette ran a toy Minion shop together and the whole shop was sold out of toys in fve minutes fat! Bob opened a whole town of toys with Bobette for a whole 22 years (that would be amusing)! So Bob and Bobette lived a happy life and always will. Bobette and Bob were always happy. They lived together for ever and ever. They had up to 322 kids – 321 were girls and one was a boy, so they had to buy a mansion!

If you’d like to star in our reader profle section we’d love to hear from you! Get a grown-up to send us an email using the address in the green box below. Then we’ll send you the forms to complete.
