Summer Reads Competition
If you read last week’s Kids Alive! you’ll know that The Reading Agency is running the Summer Reading Challenge. If you’re still looking for some brilliant books for the challenge, we’re giving away three in this week’s competition.
People Power: Peaceful Protests That Changed the World gives readers the information and encouragement they need to be part of a better future. From Gandhi to Rosa Parks and the Arab Spring to Black Lives Matter, this optimistic and hopeful book covers nearly every continent and also introduces issues such as climate change.
Art and Joy: Best Friends Forever helps young artists discover the joy of artistic expression. As two best friends Art and Joy learn how to tap into their imaginations and shrug off the Art Bully, they discover clever ways to get their creative juices owing using colour, shape, line and found objects.
The Swing is a lovely story about childhood, growing older, friendship and loss. Readers can understand that life’s most important memories can never disappear.
