Depression: Let’s talk - World Health Day-2017

In 1948, there was a call for the creation of a “World Health Day” to mark the founding of the World Health Organization. Each year it throws light on the major global Health issue and creates awareness for it. The World Health Day 2017 focuses on Depression. The campaign of the day is “Depression: Let’s talk”. Depression is the second highest cause behind the death as it leads to suicide among the adults of 15-29 age groups. Depression strikes people of all nationalities, genders, races, religions, ages, and socio-economic statuses. The good news is that there are many powerful actions that we can take to address this epidemic. “The WHO is shining a spotlight on depression in hopes that people all over the world will first be able to recognize signs of this illness in themselves or others, and then find the strength to seek help.” In today’s era the healthcare sector in the world collaborates with IT sector just to bring smart solutions in the domain of Healthcare industry.
