Bitter Gourd (karela) Drink a glass of karela juice on an empty stomach once in three days. Consume karela at least once a week either as a subzi or in a curry. Cinnamon Mix one-half to one teaspoon of cinnamon in a cup of warm water. Drink it daily. You can also add cinnamon to warm beverages, smoothies and baked goods. Include about 1 gram of cinnamon into the daily diet for about a month to help lower blood sugar levels. Guava Eating guava can be really helpful in maintaining the blood sugar level because of its vitamin C and high fiber content.
