Smoking alone kills more people each year than car accidents, suicide, murders, alcohol abuse, drug abuse and HIV infection combined. Smoking is injurious to health is a well-known fact. Here are a few permanent damages it does to the body. Damage Blood Vessels  The chemicals in tobacco smoke can harm the blood cells and functioning of heart and the blood vessels. Heart Attack Risk  Nicotine raises blood pressure and heart rate, narrows the arteries and hardens their walls, and makes blood more likely to clot.  It stresses heart and sets you up for a heart attack or stroke. Affect short term memory  Smoking harms memory by reducing the amount of oxygen that gets to the brain.  Research supports that people who smoke find it more difficult to put faces with names than nonsmokers Creates Anxiety
