WHAT IS PARKINSON’S DISEASE?
Parkinson’s is a Movement Disorder. It happens when nerve cells in the brain don't produce enough of a brain chemical called dopamine. Dopamine sends signals to the part of our brain that controls movement. People usually develop the disease around age 60 or older. Parkinson’s disease mostly affects the central nervous system. It is the progressive disease as the systems continue and worsen with the time. The cause of the disease is still not known but several factors can be the reason like the genetics and Environmental factors. Who are at Risk? If one of the family members is affected the chances are high to get the disease. There is also an increased risk in people exposed to certain pesticides. Young adults rarely experience the disease.
