The Heart of Kent Hospice invites you to join Maidstone’s biggest road run through the beautiful country roads round Linton, Boughton Monchelsea and the surrounding villages. We have three distances offering a perfect warm up for spring for experienced runners , a great route for intermediate runners or a fun run for beginners, families and children wanting to get involved. Your choices are: 5km, 10km or half marathon. All proceeds go to Heart of Kent Hospice and any sponsorship raised would be greatly appreciated. To book your place for any of the distances please visit our website www.hokh. org (where a copy of the map is also available under downloads) or contact fundraising on 01622 790195..

On completion all walkers receive a free Ploughman’s Lunch, punnet of strawberries and are entertained by a local Jazz Band. Our target this year is to reach £500,000 aggregate raised for charity and £250,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Loose…a place apart One of the many topics that Loose Parish Council is proposing that their Neighbourhood Plan will cover is the protection of the far reaching views that the landscape of Loose has to offer. In all eight views have been identified; the prime one being the view south from the footpath through the allotments looking towards Linton and the Greensand Ridge. The proposal is that any development on the rim of the view should be resisted. The protection of views has been a constant theme amongst the feed-back we have had from the public engagement events. Details of all eight views are shown on the LPC website but they will also be included in the next draft of the Neighbourhood Plan which will again be put out for public comment. If you require further details please contact the Parish Clerk, Jan Capon on 01622692712 (Mon to Wed) or email on office@loose-pc.gov.uk.
