FARIAS

The music that I typically create is music about real life experiences either about what I’ve gone through or what experiences people have gone through.

Musical influences-

My musical influences are Charlie Rich, Charlie Pride, Johnny Rodriguez, and Waylon Jennings.

Unique music-

My music is unique because it comes from the heart and is original.

Most proud of-

My most proud moment and time in my career is when I wrote “Crayons From Heaven” which I wrote for Uvalde, TX after the horrific and tragic loss that they suffered in that small community. My song was honored and recognized by the State of Texas. I was extremely excited and honored when I received that phone call and when they told me that my song had been chosen to be awarded as one of the highest award that a songwriter or artist could receive. I wrote that song for everyone in Uvalde to stay strong for each other while going through this tragic loss.

Singing in the shower-

Yes, I do sing in the shower. I mostly sing my songs because I’m practicing and I also sing disco music by artist like Marvin Gaye, Barry White and The Bee Gees.

Upcoming shows-

I will be performing in Santa Clarita on December 13th & 14th at the Santa Clarita Film Festival ( SCIFF ).

My favorite performing song“Crayons from Heaven”

Changing the Industry-

For all the Music Industry to love one another more and to respect each other more and to be united not divided.

Experience the Charm of Virginia’s Holiday Season

Alexandria, Virginia, is known for its rich history, cobblestone streets, and festive spirit that come alive each winter. With a holiday calendar full of unique events, Alexandria makes a perfect destination to experience the warmth of tradition and the joy of the season. Now, travelers to the region have an added reason to explore: The Publisher Hotel, a stunning new hotel in nearby Fredericksburg, Virginia, which embraces the style and grace of the town’s long-running newspaper which once called the historic building home.

December in Alexandria kicks off with the Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend (December 6-8, 2024), a much-anticipated tradition that celebrates the city’s Scottish roots. Visitors can enjoy the Scottish Walk Parade, featuring bagpipes, tartan-clad clans, and

holiday cheer. The weekend includes festive markets, concerts, and the Heather & Greens Sale, offering unique holiday finds. Alexandria’s historic homes, including Carlyle House and Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, add an extra layer of magic, inviting guests to step back in time with holiday tours showcasing early American traditions.

The holiday lights continue to sparkle along King Street, Alexandria’s picturesque main thoroughfare, where visitors can stroll between local boutiques, seasonal pop-up shops, and cozy cafes. For waterfront magic, the Holiday Boat Parade of Lights brings an unforgettable sight as decorated boats sail along the Potomac River, casting a festive glow across the water. Ring in the New Year with First Night Alexandria on December 31, a family-friendly celebration filled

with live music, local food vendors, and fireworks over the Potomac River. Alexandria’s celebration of the season extends well into the new year with Winter Restaurant Week (January 19-28, 2025), offering a chance to savor the city’s best flavors with special menus at local favorites.

For travelers looking to stay close to both Alexandria and Virginia’s historic sites, The Publisher Hotel in Fredericksburg offers an ideal blend of modern comfort and historical significance. Opened in July 2024 and part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, The Publisher is Fredericksburg’s only full-service hotel, featuring a

stylish restaurant and bar, an inviting lobby, and guest rooms designed with nods to the city’s newspaper legacy. Located near landmarks like George Washington’s childhood home, The Publisher serves as a convenient base for exploring Virginia’s heritage while enjoying upscale amenities.

This winter, Alexandria and Fredericksburg offer a unique holiday experience that combines timeless traditions, memorable events, and the warmth of history. Whether it’s Alexandria’s holiday charm or the cozy historic charm and ambiance of The Publisher, this is a season to remember in Virginia.

Hot Springs, Arkansas

After numerous excursions visiting countries abroad, as our readers and fans have seen throughout the years, we wanted to share our travels within this great and our beautiful country within our America, within the United States of America. God and we love her.

Hot Springs, Arkansas, home of the historical bathhouse rows, I should stop here, yet there is more...a 173 year old small rural town spread out through miles of national forests and beautiful forests, famous for the most notorious gangster meetups, hip down town and local districts, and neighborhoods winding through the hills next to rivers and lakes makes Hot Springs one of the best places to travel outside of Austin and San Antonio, Texas.

We hope to attract Hot Springs residents to come to San Antonio and Austin, Texas, which is hard to write. Notice I choose San Antonio first? Whether you and your kids are camping, oar hotel amenable, your family will fall in love with the river and take a daring tour of a safe and reasonably family friendly excursion to explore the magic of rock mining, Hot Springs is a bucket full of crystals list.

The Ron Coleman Mine, available to the novice and especially a kid friendly place, is perfect. Who doesn’t like to dig in the dirt and find precious and beautiful stones??? Ron Coleman Mine has no idea we are giving them this global recognition, but the most random adventure is the best adventure! We love it and will return!

As always support small business in San Antonio and anywhere. Enjoy your life by travel, food and supporting small businesses everywhere.

SA Monthly Magazine

readers and fans, our passion is Italian cuisine! One of our friends told us about a newly opened restaurant located near the medical center area of the city. Bryan and I decided to take a drive and have dinner for our own eyes. We started with warm crusty bread and a seasoned olive oil followed by grilled artichokes wrapped with Prosciutto with truffle oil.

My pasta was a Lasagne al Forno, homemade pasta sheets with layers of Italian sausage bolognese. Bryan’s pasta was Pasta al Nero, a black pasta tossed in garlic, diced pancetta and chopped shrimp. You can taste the freshness, authenticity and the best quality of ingredients in every bite. The restaurant infuses the great taste

of sea and mountains between Italy and Albania. While we were enjoying our dinner, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Chef Prince Blake. Chef Prince was very personable and genuine. We observed him walking to each table checking on his guests. This is an impeccable venue with great ambiance and friendly staff service. This is a “GEM” of a restaurant and I encourage you to bring your friends and family members so that they can enjoy this remarkable experience! Buon Appetito!

Running your own business requires dedication, discipline and passion. Which is most important to you?

The most important thing to me is prayer. The rest come easy because of it.

Have you run your own business before?

How did you get started in your career? From being a physical scientist for the USDA, and teaching high school science, this was a transition into something more accommodating and fulfilling to who I am. Both laid foundations for the ability to think comprehensively and move strategically while being able to relate to people from all backgrounds.

What woman in history or your own family has been your greatest inspiration?

My mother, Norma Vargas. Her strength and perseverance and ability to instill core values about integrity, self-love, respect for others, education, family and love of God, truly have molded who I became as an adult. I am so grateful she never gave up on any her daughters.

How do women today achieve work-life balance?

It is definitely a balance. One doesn’t work well without the other. Discipline of your time, patience with yourself while working towards getting it all together is key. I don’t know a single woman who

doesn’t feel she could do more, but in my eyes they are all a success.

How did you get where you are today, and who/what helped you along the way?

It has been a long battle to opening my own business with no path made easy, but I was certain of where I was headed, who needed me to make it (children) and how I hoped to lead others out of the same difficult positions I often found myself in. Much time in prayer and worship managed to keep my head above water.

What has been the role of luck in your success?

The best ace in back pocket has been prayer. All the glory is God’s.

Does your company do business online?

My business can absolutely do business online and around the nation. I can strategically assess growth with the information available from clients. I can be reached at CORNESTONECONSULTING.SOLUTIONS for guidance on business development.

Do you have any major achievements and significant milestones to date?

From a single mother with no formal education, promising career, prospects or ideas, I managed to attain two associate’s degrees, one Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in business setting foundations to the open doors I find now.

What would you like your “Women in Business’ legacy to be?

I hope to lead women towards success without making impulsive or emotional decisions,. To use your head above your emotions, without having to hurt anyone. It is very possible. But the lane you pave behind you becomes the legacy you leave behind for others.

Cultivating Resilience for Business Success

In a world where unpredictability is the new normal, resilient businesses don’t just survivethey thrive. As we approach the end of 2024, business owners have a unique opportunity to strengthen their foundations for a prosperous 2025 by focusing on resilience-building strategies by promoting adaptability and growth.

Resilience starts with adaptability. Take a hard look at your operations—are there areas where efficiency can be improved, or are there processes that need to be updated? Streamlining your systems now will prepare you to shift quickly if circumstances change, helping you stay nimble in a dynamic market.

Financially, resilience can mean building a buffer. Analyzing your cash flow and savings will reveal opportunities to reinforce stability and explore new revenue streams. This could mean expanding into untapped markets or refining your current offerings to attract new customers and diversify income.

Empowering your team is equally crucial. Cultivate a supportive culture where open communication and professional growth are valued. When employees feel secure and motivated, they’re better equipped to face challenges head-on and contribute to a resilient business environment.

By strengthening these core areas, you set the stage for a year where your business can adapt, overcome obstacles, and capture new opportunities. As you close out 2024, make being resilient a top priority and prepare to thrive in 2025.

Switching jobs is a common occurrence in today’s dynamic workforce, and while it marks the beginning of a new chapter in your career, it also raises questions about what happens to your retirement savings, particularly your 401(k) plan.

Understanding the options available to you when transitioning between jobs can help you make informed decisions about managing your retirement assets effectively.

Leave It with Your Former Employer

In many cases, you have the option to leave your 401(k) with your former employer’s plan, even after you’ve left the company. This option is known as “in-service withdrawal,” and it allows you to maintain the tax-deferred status of your retirement savings and continue benefiting from the investment options offered by the plan. However, it’s essential to consider factors such as plan fees, investment performance, and administrative convenience when deciding whether to leave your 401(k) with your former employer.

Roll It Over to Your New Employer’s Plan

If your new employer offers a 401(k) plan and allows incoming rollovers, you may choose to transfer your 401(k) savings from your former employer’s plan to your new employer’s plan. This option consolidates your retirement savings into a single account, making it easier to manage and track your investments. Rolling over your 401(k) to your new employer’s plan also preserves the tax-deferred status of your retirement savings and maintains continuity in your retirement planning.

Roll It Over to an Individual Retirement Account (IRA)

Alternatively, you can roll over your 401(k) savings into an individual retirement account (IRA) held outside of your employer’s plan. IRAs offer a broader range of investment options and greater flexibility in managing your retirement savings compared to employer-sponsored 401(k) plans. Rolling over your 401(k) to an IRA allows you to take advantage of potentially lower fees, more investment choices, and personalized investment strategies tailored to your retirement goals.

Angel Helpers Ministry where Kindness, Helping, and Giving is their Mission

As the warm summer days settle into Autumn’s chilly nights, sweater weather, and cozy nights in with the family, people begin to anticipate the holiday season. Family activities like baking, watching holiday movies together and gift giving start to fill our minds with joyful spirits and thankful hearts. Classic holiday movies start streaming into our homes, like Frank Capra’s famous movie, It’s a Wonderful Life reminding us just how significant each one of our lives is in this world and how we all impact each other in a profound way. The famous film’s quote comes to mind, “Teacher says every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings,” Zuzu Bailey. It really is a wonderful life! But what about those who struggle each holiday to put presents under the tree for their children or grandchildren? This is where we thank the angels on earth at Angel Helpers Ministry whose mission is to bring the joy of Jesus to families in need in San Antonio, and surrounding areas, by transforming them through knowledge as well as gifts during the Holidays.

Michelle Daigle and her husband, Brenden founded the local non-profit agency in 2010 to fulfill the mission of helping others, especially children. Infants and

children through age seventeen whose families work to meet the needs of their children, but like many fall financially short in these challenging times, can apply for the program via open enrollment annually ending on October 31st at midnight each year.

Michelle Daigle, co-founder states, “One thing that makes Angel Helpers Ministry unique is the set-up of their annual Christmas Care Store. Not only do families get to shop for free,’ and enjoy refreshments, but families feel like they are more involved with the Holiday, while choosing which items that they know their children will enjoy. Michelle Daigle said that there will be two Christmas care store events this year, on December 7th and December 14th, so please act now to participate in making these heartfelt events happen.

Interested in helping by adopting a child, donating money to help with gifts and supplies, volunteering your time, or you are a business that would love to support Angel Helpers Ministry, then read on! The Daigles and their angel team can help. Sherry Stubbs is their dedicated Outreach manager dedicating countless hours to setting up booths, running raffles, and more to help the children. Further Starlina Nicholson and Dawn Huff are marketing assistants

and Terry Mendoza is another angel who helps with marketing this wonderful non-profit.

Fill a child’s heart with the joy of the holidays and the magic and excitement only an innocent child knows by helping Angel Helpers Ministry. It will be well worth it and not only share the joy of giving with others, but that joy will be returned filling your own hearts with purpose, meaningful altruism, and the spirit of the holiday season. The quotation by W.C. Jones says it all, “The joy of brightening other lives becomes for us the magic of the holidays.”

Happy holidays to all! Make a child smile and bring joy to others this holiday season, by becoming an angel on earth!

Many of us have an idea of what a deposition is, or seen one on a tv show, but most of us probably haven’t been through one. Hopefully, you’ll never have to but if you do, here’s a short summary of what it is.

At its most basic level, a deposition is essentially questioning from an attorney to a witness in litigation. Although this is usually in the middle of a lawsuit, and there is no Judge present. There are some special circumstances where it can be taken before or after a lawsuit, but usually it’s during. It is taken under oath, and is recorded by a court reporter. Sometimes the deposition is video recorded, but it is not necessary, and it depends on whether the attorneys request to have it done. It usually takes place at one of the attorney’s offices and it is generally the attorney’s office who represents the witness. For example, if it is a witness generally favorable to the plaintiff, it usually takes place at the plaintiff’s attorney’s office, if a defense witness, at the defense attorney’s office. Attorneys for both sides are present along with the court reporter.

The rules surrounding depositions are different than if the testimony was taken in the middle of a trial. For example, because there is no Judge, any objections to the testimony are recorded by the court reporter, but they are limited to objections to the form of the questions. Some samples of objections to the form of a question are that the question is compound, vague, or ambiguous. The rest of the objections, except

work product privilege and attorney-client privilege and, are reserved for trial. The main difference between the deposition and trial testimony is that when there is an objection at the deposition, the witness still has to answer the question. The lawyer making the objection can then, at a later date, have a hearing in front of a Judge to determine if the testimony of the witness that was objected to at the deposition will be admissible.

The law generally gives broad latitude to the range of topics that can be discussed at a deposition. This includes topics that may seem to be irrelevant. The standard under Texas law, is that it is reasonably calculated to lead to the discovery of admissible evidence. Because of this, attorneys can use depositions, and the broad parameters to gauge how good of a witness a person is potentially going to be at trial. It can also help attorneys assess the value of the case. For example, what initially looks like a strong case to take to trial as the plaintiff in a lawsuit, can turn into the type of case that clearly should never see the inside of a courtroom. Because the testimony is sworn to, it is just as good as if the testimony was made in court. In some circumstances, if the witness is not available for trial, the testimony at the deposition may be used.

Once the depositions are over, a transcript is sent to the attorney representing the witness to determine if there were any mistakes in the transcription. This can be a very important part of the process because

once the transcript is reviewed and corrected, it can be used to impeach the witness at trial. The effect of this is that if the witness, during a later trial, says something different that what they previously said under oath at a deposition, their deposition testimony can be used against them. This can be a very powerful tool in discrediting a witness. Many attorneys believe that cases are won or lost during depositions. If you haven’t been called as a witness to provide deposition testimony, hopefully you won’t have to, but if you ever are, this gives you an idea of what to expect and the importance depositions they have in civil cases. At the very least, remember that depositions are not something that should be taken lightly.

ASHLYN DONOHUE

My name is Ashlyn Donohue, and I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I am a full-time student, model, and actress. I began modeling and acting a little over a year ago when I joined Mrs. Lari Nelson’s runway class at Nelson Fashion Group. Mrs. Lari Nelson is the best Mother Agent in San Antonio, teaching us the proper walks and turns used in runway shows around the world. Modeling isn’t just about learning these techniques; it’s also about discovering much more about yourself.

Modeling has significantly boosted my confidence, and it has introduced me to amazing people who have become lifelong friends. With Mrs. Lari’s guidance and the support of my incredible mom, I had the opportunity to attend the June 2024 Model and Talent Expo in Dallas, where I showcased the skills I’ve learned in front of over 60 agents from around the globe.

The modeling gene runs deep in my family-my mom and Nana were both models, and my Nana owned a modeling school and agency in San Antonio for over a decade. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to model, but I waited for the right time. I never anticipated how transformative the industry would be. The modeling world has opened up new opportunities for me to showcase pieces from many talented designers, participate in charity events, and connect with a diverse group of amazing people.

My goals in modeling and acting are to approach every opportunity with an open mind, continue to grow and learn, and eventually sign with a top market agency. I am forever grateful to Mrs. Lari for everything she has taught me and done for me over this incredible year. I’m excited to see what the next year holds! 7 Tips to Enjoy the Holidays Without the Extra Weight Gain

As the holidays approach, the joy of gathering with family and friends often goes hand in hand with festive feasting. While it’s tempting to throw caution to the wind, these months don’t have to mean extra pounds. By making a few mindful tweaks, you can enjoy all the holiday flavors and fun without derailing your health goals. Here’s your guide to savoring the season with balance and ease.

1. Savor, Don’t Shovel: The Power of Mindful Eating

The holidays are packed with treats you only get once a year, so give yourself permission to truly enjoy them! Slow down and savor each bite. Start with a smaller portion and take time to appreciate the flavors—you’ll likely find yourself more satisfied with less. If you’re at a big meal, put your fork down between bites, and enjoy some holiday conversation. Slowing down helps you recognize fullness and keeps the joy in eating.

2. Holiday Treats? Go for It—in Balance

Holiday pies, cookies, and casseroles bring a certain magic, and you don’t need to miss out. Try the 80/20 rule to enjoy these treats without overindulgence: 80% of your meals can be nutrient-rich choices like

lean proteins and vegetables, leaving 20% for festive fare. This approach lets you indulge while maintaining balance.

3. Keep Moving with Seasonal Fun

The holiday season is a great excuse to move, so lace up your sneakers and get festive! Whether it’s a brisk morning walk, a family game of touch football, a 5K “Turkey Trot,” or a workout at home, any movement helps you stay energized. For a quick workout, try this: 15 squats, 10 push-ups, 20 seconds of plank, and 15 lunges (each leg). Repeat 3-4 times for a full-body boost that’ll keep holiday stress at bay!

4. Lighten Up Holiday Recipes with Simple Swaps

The classics don’t have to be heavy to taste delicious. Simple swaps keep dishes flavorful while trimming calories. For instance:

• Mashed Cauliflower instead of Potatoes: Lower in carbs but creamy and satisfying.

• Greek Yogurt for Sour Cream: Perfect for creamy dips, and it packs in extra protein.

• Spice Up for Flavor: Skip extra sugar by using cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice in desserts and drinks. These spices add flavor and evoke holiday coziness without the calories.

5. Stay Hydrated to Keep Cravings in Check

Between festive cocktails and cozy lattes, it’s easy to overlook water, but staying hydrated is key. Water fills you up, aids digestion, and prevents mistaking thirst for hunger. Make it a habit to drink a glass of water before each meal and after each alcoholic drink. Herbal teas like peppermint or cinnamon add a warm, festive touch to your hydration routine without added calories.

6. Prioritize Rest and Manage Holiday Stress

It’s easy to skimp on sleep during the busy holiday season, but getting enough rest can be crucial for staying healthy. Poor sleep impacts hunger hormones, leading to more cravings. Aim for 7–8 hours each night to keep energy high and cravings low. When stress hits, take a few deep breaths or do a 5-minute meditation before meals to center

yourself, letting you approach food with a calm, mindful attitude.

7. Stay Accountable with a Holiday Health Buddy

A little support goes a long way. Find a friend or family member with similar health goals, and check in with each other to stay motivated. Whether it’s committing to a workout routine, sticking to a mindful eating plan, or just avoiding that second helping of pie, having a buddy keeps you accountable. Focus on a realistic goal—like simply maintaining your weight instead of losing it—and enjoy the holidays without added pressure.

With these practical tips, you can feel confident entering the holiday season, ready to enjoy family, food, and festivities without sacrificing your health goals.

Healthy Holiday Recipe: Pumpkin Pecan Bake

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• 1 tsp cinnamon

• 1/2 tsp nutmeg

• 1/4 tsp ginger

• 1/4 tsp cloves

• 1/4 tsp salt

• 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.

2. Prepare the Pumpkin Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, almond milk, maple syrup, egg, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt. Whisk until smooth.

3. Pour and Top: Pour the pumpkin mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.

4. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the pumpkin mixture is set and the pecans are slightly toasted.

‘5. Cool and Serve: Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy as-is or with a dollop of Greek yogurt for extra creaminess.

This lighter pumpkin pecan bake is perfect for a cozy dessert that brings the warmth of fall spices without the extra heaviness.

Turning a New Leaf

Autumn; the season between summer and winter; fall. In the Northern Hemisphere it is from the September equinox to the December solstice; in the Southern Hemisphere it is from the March equinox to the June solstice. A time of full maturity, especially the late stages of full maturity or, sometimes, the early stages of decline:

Autumn makes me think of turning a new leaf a good time for reflection, awareness, and mindfulness. Turn over a New Leaf; begin a new change in one’s attitude and behavior. Tis the season for transformation and growth; emotional, spiritual, physical, health and wellness. As I always say “Your Health is your Wealth”. Your health is everything. It’s time make a fresh start;

Improve

Rebuild

Rehabilitate

Remake

Renovate

5 affirmations about the human body you didn’t know were lies, at MedNatura we help you recover your health and well-being with #frequenciasrife

It’s well known that the human body is a near-perfect machine that has been studied throughout history, but is everything that counts true? How does our brain work? Does crossing your fingers cause arthritis?

Read on and discover 5 statements about your body that are not true.

1. Do crossing your fingers hurt joints? I bet your parents or grandparents have scolded you at some point in your life for crossing your fingers and they were NOT right!. Studies are overwhelming and claim that the only negative effect of crunching knuckles is the unpleasant noise it causes.

2. We only use 10% of our brain You may have heard this statement in some trick from a mentalist, those illusionists who boast of telepathy and the power to transform reality with the power of their brain. Yet another lie. It’s a very widespread sentence that doesn’t make any sense because all research shows that throughout the day human being uses 100% of his capacity. Just a little less would be used for neural damage.

3. Teeth are white On TV, in the movies or on social networks, every day you see perfect teeth with a dazzling white, but are our teeth really white? The answer is NO. Human teeth have a yellowish tone, which no matter how much you brush, it doesn’t disappear. White teeth are nothing more than the fruit of a whitening treatment.

4. Cells don’t reproduce with age We tend to think that aging is because our cells stop reproducing. Here would be the cause of the skin wrinkle and the bones resin. However, there are studies that indicate that this is not entirely true. The cellular system always works, what happens is that changes occur to it.

5. Shaving makes hair grow thicker The reality is that shaving contributes to more hair growing and getting darker, as exposure to light causes it to lighten. But the thickness doesn’t play any role here.

Autumn- International Stress Awareness Day

The holidays are nearing us, and with it comes the things we value: leaves changing, weather changing, football season, and pumpkin spice everything. This sounds great of course, but with that being said, there comes stress.

In 2023, more than half of adult women (53%) and 45% of adult men in the U.S. reported feeling frequent stress.(GallupNews.com; April 15, 2024) Additionally, more than three-quarters of adults report experiencing symptoms of stress, such as headaches, tiredness, or sleeping problems (singlecare.com). Singlecare.com continued on to say that “49% of adults say that stress has negatively affected their behavior.” Behaviors included:

Finances and money

The economy

Housing costs

Health care

Family and care responsibilities

Discrimination *(wysa.com)

The American Psychological Association went onto point out that “around three-quarters of adults (76%) said they have experienced health impacts due to stress in the prior month, including headache (38%), fatigue (35%), feeling nervous or anxious (34%), and/or feeling depressed or sad (33%).

As a result, 51% of Americans cite mental health as a top health concern, compared to other major health issues, and 52% of Americans say the U.S. healthcare system prioritizes physical health over mental health (www.ipsos.com/)

Long term wise, stress can impact one’s mental health, blood pressure, concentration, diet, sleep, immune system, and other really important day to day aspects of ourselves.

So what do we do about it? First, we recognize stress is a thing. On the first Wednesday od the month in November, International Stress Awareness Day aims to raise awareness of stress and its impacts.

This means that we need to look into scaling back. It appears that part of this is issue is people feeling that they are over-extending themselves. With work, sometimes people are carrying it over to home. With finances, sometimes people feel the pressure of having to carry on the holiday expectations on top of other financial responsibilities. With family, there is the feeling of having to be at so many different events. The other issues of housing, economy, and healthcare are also weighing on people’s mind. Discrimination of any kind and other social issues are present in peoples lives both overtly and subtly.

Some of the things that one can do is taking a step back and breathing. When one starts to feel overwhelmed, things like box breathing, stretching, rubbing your scalp, hot bathes, reading a book, exercise, and walking can help alleviate some of your physical stress symptoms. Things like massage can also help, as knots in your muscles can happen and those need to be worked out.

Other things that one can do is looking at expenses and determining what can be cut (if anything). Finding cheaper alternatives to streaming services, cell phone plans, etc can be helpful to alleviate everyday financial burdens. Other solutions like financial planning video resources or courses online are available; financial planning resources can also be found at local community services and churches. There are also social programs that people can apply to for financial relief assistance that may alleviate some of those concerns. Payment plans, and some in-program assistance can help.

Medical issues and health issues, as scary as they are, must be addressed with your primary care provider. It is better to have answers and a plan than to have no information at all. With answers, a path forward can be made.

Ongoing issues such as discrimination and other social issues should be documented, noted, and reported. Nothing is worth sacrificing one’s mental health. Always be sure to have your safety net or “village” of support.

Also, it is okay to say “no.” Whether it be to people or commitments, “no” is an important word to get down.

In many cases, therapy and psychiatry to help navigate chronic stress issues is a very good way to tackle and develop tools to navigating stress. In closing, with all of the changes that are happening as the holidays approach, remember to be kind to yourself and remind yourself that you are one person. An important person, but one person who is navigating a world of things. Put yourself and your peace first, and the rest will fall into place.

Consistency Is Key During The Holiday Season

The holiday seasons can feel overwhelming! Family, friends, work, kids, spouses, holiday parties, traffic, grocery shopping for Thanksgiving, Christmas shopping, and so much more seem to be at an all-time high. Making a trip to the bathroom, let alone giving yourself an hour at the gym, seems unimaginable during this time. But guess what? It’s possible!

Prioritizing is important when it comes to your health, fitness, and sanity. So, where do you start? A daily “to-do” list! Jot down everything you need to do on that given day and include time for yourself for selfcare. If something else comes up, do not sway from your daily list. Simply add it to the following day. If someone tries to add their errands to your daily list, the answer should be, “No, but I will be more than happy to do that for you tomorrow.” Setting boundaries with helpful options lets others know they can’t infringe on your valuable time at their convenience, so if your answer isn’t what they want to hear, they can put their errands back on their to-do list or be thankful you will help them the following day.

Consistently staying on course with your daily to-do list will make this habit forming and keep you structured in a crazy world of demands. A person who puts themselves first comes to the table to give others 100% of themselves because they have 100% to give. Love thyself first IS love!

Discover the Power of Balance Therapy with

In the fast-paced world we live in today, maintaining physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being is more crucial than ever. At ProBalance360, we are committed to helping individuals achieve holistic health through our innovative balance therapy solutions. Our mission is to empower you with the tools and knowledge to enhance your overall quality of life, ensuring you can navigate daily activities with confidence and ease.

Balance and joint mobility are fundamental to a healthy, active lifestyle. Yet, they are often overlooked until issues arise. Understanding their significance can transform how you approach your health and wellness journey.

1. Balance: Your Foundation for Stability

Balance is your body’s ability to maintain stability and control, whether you are standing still, walking, or engaging in more dynamic activities. Good balance is crucial for:

Preventing Falls: Falls are a leading cause of injury, especially among older adults. Improving your balance significantly reduces the risk of falls and related injuries, from minor bruises to severe fractures and head trauma.

Dr.

Enhancing Coordination: Good balance enhances your coordination, making everyday tasks like walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs, or participating in sports much easier.

Promoting Independence: Maintaining good balance allows you to perform daily tasks without assistance, fostering independence and boosting your quality of life.

Supporting Overall Fitness: Balance exercises engage multiple muscle groups, improving overall muscle strength and endurance, which is essential for an active lifestyle and mitigating the effects of aging.

2. Joint Mobility: The Key to Flexibility and Comfort

Joint mobility refers to the range of motion around a joint. Optimal joint mobility is essential for performing everyday tasks comfortably and efficiently. Here’s why:

Reducing Pain and Stiffness: Good joint mobility helps prevent and alleviate pain and stiffness, which are common in conditions like arthritis. This reduces reliance on pain medication and enhances comfort. Increasing Flexibility: Improved joint mobility increases your flexibility, allowing for a greater range

of motion necessary for activities involving bending, stretching, and reaching.

Preventing Injuries: Flexible joints are less prone to injuries. Enhanced mobility allows your body to move more freely, reducing the risk of strains, sprains, and other injuries.

Maintaining Physical Function: Optimal joint mobility supports your ability to perform daily activities, such as dressing, cooking, and cleaning, without restriction or discomfort.

Combining Balance and Joint Mobility for Optimal Health

Addressing balance and joint mobility simultaneously can lead to significant health benefits and an enhanced quality of life. Here’s how:

1. Comprehensive Injury Prevention:

Combining balance and joint mobility exercises creates a resilient musculoskeletal system. Enhanced joint flexibility allows for better shock absorption, while good balance prevents falls, together significantly reducing injury risks.

2. Enhanced Physical Performance:

Activities requiring coordination, strength, and flexibility, such as sports or dancing, benefit greatly from improved balance and joint mobility. This leads to better performance and enjoyment of these activities.

3. Improved Posture and Alignment:

Balance training often involves core strengthening, which supports better posture. Coupled with flexible joints, this ensures proper body alignment, reducing chronic pain and postural issues.

4. Increased Independence and Daily Function:

Better balance and joint mobility make it easier to perform daily tasks independently. This independence is crucial for mental well-being and overall life satisfaction, particularly in older adults.

5. Enhanced Mental Health:

Physical activity that improves balance and joint mobility also boosts mental health. The confidence gained from reduced fall risk and improved physical capabilities can alleviate anxiety and depression.

My favorite place to be is behind the lense of my Sony. One of the pest compliments I get from clients is that they feel like they’ve known me forever after a session. I have been shooting professionally for almost 6 years and my work has taken me all over the United States.

I have met so many incredible humans because of this career and i Still cannot believe my art allows me to help businesses grow and create family heirlooms for others.

I take great pride in my work and enjoy being around families for all occasions. I believe photography & videography is an art form to which memories can be captured.
