The Ramayana is one of the great epics of the ancient world. Generations of children around the world have grown up with its story of Rama’s quest to recover his wife Sita from her abduction by Raavana, the Lord of the Underworld. Daljit Nagra was captivated by the versions his grandparents regaled him with as a child. Now an award-winning poet, he has chosen to bring the story to life in a thrilling, accessible version of his own that bursts with energy. Daljit’s readings will be accompanied by dance pieces from experienced Bharatanatyam dancer, Chitraleka Bolar, Artistic Director of Chitraleka Dance Company.
