This w as the first task of my internship : redraw ing the details of a c abinet w ith the millw orker’s plan (not alw ay s given as an autoc ad version to the arc hitec t) as a starting point. I had the oportunity to visit the c ompleted projec t to w hic h belonged this c abinet : an impressive penthouse w ith a view on C entral Park... Welc ome to New York !!

GRAPHIC DESIGN

At the end of each year, RYA likes to create an original gift for its clients. I was in charge of this task during my internship and really enjoyed this approach of graphic design creation, craft realisation as well as the gesture towards the architect-client relationship. This is the origami house shaped goodie box and postcard - signed by the whole RYA team - I made.

PROJECT VISITS

I visited this project at the begining of my internship ; it is the rehabilitation of a penthouse in the upper east side, with a view on Central Park from every room of the appartment. Once again the high quality of all the materials was impressive ; wallnut wood walls, custom shelves, cabinet and kitchen counter, leather finitions in the mini-bar and all signature furniture.

CULTURE ! Living nine months in New -York was also an apportunity to learn outside of the studio. The energy of this city is truly not a legend. During my year, I enjoyed going out after work for exhibitions, openings, concerts, Art fairs, Jazz Clubs, lectures, design stores, v isits , o r s im p l y w alki n g a r o u n d N e w Yo r k C i ty streets. B a ck i n Bordeaux, I realize how intense it all was, and what a privilege it was to have culture so easily accessible to anyone interested in it.
