The design proposal for the Bramante Nymphaeum originates from the study of the architect’s original drawings, the analysis of which identified a 7.5 m square module that perfectly defines the existing space of the Nymphaeum.
From the regular module, through the development of the golden rectangle it has been given back hierarchy to the site; the interior space becomes part of a larger square, generating a clear tripartition. This new space defined, can host more than a hundred spectators and is covered by a large steel profile roof and emptied in the center by a circle.
The order of the Nymphaeum also determined the steel pillars as a contemporary reinterpretation of the columns of Tuscanic order. The roof therefore finds supports on the new pillars and on the concrete podium at the back of the Nymphaeum, approached by the new intervention but never directly touched, consequently preserved in its fragility.

This new space defined, can host more than a hundred spectators and is covered by a large steel profile roof and emptied in the center by a circle, which gives a bright and suggestive opening. The giant order of the Nymphaeum also determined the choice for the supports: steel pillars emerge as a contemporary reinterpretation of the columns of Tuscanic order, designed with a cross plan, tapered, and with an inverted capital. The roof therefore finds supports on the new pillars and on the concrete podium at the back of the Nymphaeum, approached by the new intervention but never directly touched, consequently preserved in its fragility. This solid addition will also shelters all of the spaces necessary for the theater functions, along with the storage and the restrooms. The garden space is designed through paths between green areas characterized by terraces that lie and shape the natural slope of the land. The distinguishing element for the outdoor space becomes the stairways that emerge from the ground.

Our design proposal for the YRN Children’s house considers both the tasks it must perform and the context in which it operates, with particular attention to the safety of children and parents.

YRN acronym of “Yaay, rafet na!”, “Mama, how nice!”, is the name of our project, in Wolof dialect. Children are the first beneficiaries: they enter the complex and, with a voice full of joy, thank their mothers for what they see. Spaces are essential to guarantee a correct response to both emergency and play needs for children. Thus, children’s perspective is the pivotal motor to define this micro-village: they run between spaces and play in total serenity.
The central space, the distributive heart of the entire facility, opens into a courtyard, allowing parents to have total control.

Inujima was said to be a pirates’den, its name literally translates to “Dog Island”, for a dog-shaped rock on the neighboring Inunoshima island, now wordshipped as Inuishi Sama”. Another local deity, protecting the quarries and those involved in it, is worshipped at the Yama Jinja Shrine. Though small, Inujima island packs a rich complexity in the form of history and landscape variety: the granite extraction activity in the 1600s, fundamental in economic and historical relevance that has deeply shaped the island and its conformation.
The design is characterized by its organic shapes that invite the visitor inside following the natural contours of the island. Formally and architecturally divided into two shapes, the pavilion hosts many different functions. Under the bigger roof the space is studded by independent enclosed spaces, that inside their organic shapes collect workshops and more relaxed spaces for the community to gather and enjoy the product of their labour.

Being our project conceptually constituted by a single mass, one of the questions that posed this choice, it was to find an effective alternative that would allow not to decompose this unity from the outside, but that, at the same time, allow homes to receive the necessary air and light exchange.

This type of work has raised questions about the possibility of thinking about new ways of living, highlighting, given the current conditions, also the importance of the presence of open spaces within their home.
The answer we propose, therefore, comes from the suggestion provided by Ayomonino himself and the idea of emptying this full, through the creation of small apartments structured around small private internal kiosks, it seemed to us to be in line with our design proposal. We have, therefore, chosen to insert 3 different types of residence at court.

By 2050, the world’s population will be concentrated in large cities, and a of the most relevant issues concerns food supply in terms in relative terms, by increasing the production and distribution capacity at locations of maximum concentration of people.

The recent Covid-19 pandemic has shown the fragility of the system, both from production, distribution, both wide and small scale: blocked logistics resulting in lack of first-class goods need, few capillary points of supply, often with very high prices superiors.
Moreover with regard to the objectives of sustainable development proposed by the Nations United, the Laboratory aims to meet certain specific requirements such as: implement “green” ecological sustainability and resilience of cities, transform the production systems and reducing emissions from the agri-food sector, democratise the system of access to climate risk information, this project wants to show how to design a “vertical farming”.

Our proposal for the EOC is based on two key concepts: timeliness and versatility. This led us to design an emergency operations center that can be built in three steps to allow each part to be avaiable as soon as it is built, while the rest of the complex is beaing completed.
The first block, which contains all the required functions, is the quickest to build so that it can begin funcioning like as a small-scale of the whole EOC. This way the building process can be adapted to the most pressing needs by choosing which part to build first while the first block can fill in until the building is completed and fully funcional.

Whether the complex is dismantled or it is kept the tree placed the courtyard at the beginning of the construction process will serve as a reminder of the resilience and the effort of the people that worked to counter the emergency.
