Designing an outpatient/Ambulatory care facility to replace the current health facility on Morgan State University’s campus. Project clients included the medical staff and students, with the goal of solving issues, such as privacy, daylighting, poor layout, and storage. Patients have a dedicated oor on the rst oor adn staff have privacy on the second oor.The patient layout was placed in a circular ow to avoid confusion and a deened entry.The staff have an entry opposite of the main entrance with direct access to the second oor staff lounge. Large windows in the administration, waiting room and above the exam room lallway were placed to solve the lighting issue. Designated storage closets were placed near the nurse’s station with a viewing station for nurses.Vegetated walls were placed along the south and east wall, taking advantage of the lowest point o ft he curved roof, giving way to water collection for a self-sustaining vegetated wall.
WATER OVERLOOK Water Overlook, was the study of prefabrication systems. SIP panels were used as the primary construction along with a metal frame. Located near the Potomac river, the site allowed for views that overlooked into the river. Water was the theme, it presented the opportunity for water collection and drainage into the river.Water Overlook, is a vacation home that used nature as its design guide.

[RE] CONNECTING A NEIGHBORHOOD Perkins Homes:

Perkins Home is a housing project in downtown Baltimore. To bridge the new development with the surrounding neighborhoods, new pedestrian alleys are placed throughout the community to reconnect the existing with the new. A playground is nestled within the rowhome division and a community garden is located near Pratt street, inviting and welcoming passersby.

The community garden provides a place to socialize and gather. The bike/pedestrian lanes, provide direct access throughout the com munity.
Bus and car lanes are located on Caroline St. near the retail ally, where a bio-retention median is used to reduce traďŹƒc noise while providing privacy to the rowhomes from the mixed-used fr condominiums.

DEFINED ENTRY
“Gathering”was designed as a way to bring students together to socialize and gather. It is located at the south side of campus near the campus book store and parking lot. It’s location is ideal for the campus, it is surrounded by the bookstore, student center, the Financial Aid and humanities building. Gathering is the ideal coffee shop for both students and faculty. It provides indoor and outdoor seating, the large curtain wall provides lighting all year round and allows a live tree to be installed.
