Etwa 100 kg Beisskraft können Menschen entwickeln. Damit sind die Kaumuskeln die stärksten Muskeln in unserem Körper.
18 bis 23 kg Bindegewebe, auch Faszien oder Fasziennetz genannt, tragen wir mit uns herum. Dieses verbindet alle inneren Strukturen unseres Körpers miteinander und besteht hauptsächlich aus Protein, Wasser, Kollagen und Elastin. Mit rund 30 Prozent sind Kollagene die am häufigsten im Körper vorkommenden Strukturproteine. Sie sind leicht, dehnbar und sehr reissfest: Ihre Zugfestigkeit ist höher als die von Stahl.
