Bali is one of the 34 provinces of the Republic of Indonesia and has become the prime holiday destination in Indonesia as well as one of the major holiday destinations for international tourists. The island is located in the westernmost end of the Lesser Sunda Islands, lying between Java to the west and Lombok to the east, and divided into 9 districts (8 regencies and 1 municipality) with population around four million people. Denpasar is the capital and most populous city of Bali. The vast majority of the Balinese people are Hindu so there are a significant number of temples on the island. Temple or Pura in Indonesian is the place for worship, and the biggest, most important and holiest temple in Bali is the Mother Temple of Besakih. Bali has a tropical climate all year with average temperature of 31 degrees Celsius and two different seasons. Dry season is between May and September with high humidity and wet season is between October and April with low humidity. From June to August, the weather is usually nice, breezy and cool. The main language is Indonesia, however being one of the most favourite holiday destinations in the world, not only many people speak English but also other foreign languages such as French, Japanese, Chinese, Germany.

Situated right next to Bali, Lombok unspoiled atmosphere of vintage tropical paradise might remind its visitors of Bali a couple decades ago. It is a developing tourism destination which proven by the recently-refurbished International Airport located in the city of Praya, serving regular flight to and from several cities of Java and the island of Bali, as well as neighboring countries of Malaysia and Singapore, the island also accessible by boat from Bali, Flores and Sumbawa. Lombok has a rich and enduring indigenous culture that has withstood the pressures of modernity remarkably well. 85% of the island inhabitants are composed by indigenous Sasak people whose origins are thought to have arisen from Java in the first millennium BC. Other residents include an estimated 10–15% Balinese, with the small remainder being Tionghoa-peranakan, Javanese, Sumbawanese and Arab Indonesians. Besides the widely-known spots of interest such as Senggigi Beach, Mount Rinjani and the Gili clusters, there are numerous fascinating underrated spots to see around the island, including Kuta Beach (not to be confused with the legendary one in Bali) on the Southern side, or the magnificent Tangsi Beach a.k.a ‘Pink beach’ at Eastern Lombok, named for the gorgeous pink sand covering its entire shoreline. In the central Lombok, you can opt to visit Selong Belanak beach, a secluded shoreline area with soft white-sand surrounded by lush greenery.

AirAsia X Indonesia Successfully Commenced Their Very First Maiden Flight from Tokyo to Bali Staying true to its commitment in supporting Indonesian tourism, AirAsia X Indonesia (flight code XT) has just commenced the operations of a new international direct route connecting Bali and Tokyo Narita, Japan. The flight XT402 departed Narita International Airport and landed in Bali earlier today with 93 percent load factor. Upon landing at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, the Airbus A330-300 was greeted with a water canon salute, and passengers of the flight were welcomed with flower leis and performances by traditional Balinese dancers. As the first and only long-haul low-cost direct service that connects Indonesia and Japan, the flight will further expanding the airline’s connectivity in Asia Pacific region by enabling Japanese travelers to visit Indonesia at affordable fares and vice versa, further contributing to the growth of tourism in both countries.

i-site According to the archeological research and calculation, Pura Puseh Batuan was built around the year of Isaka 944 (1020 AD), which means it has literally stood for more than 1000 years. ‘Puseh’ itself is actually one of three main category of Balinese Hindu temples according to the teaching of sacred priest Mpu Tantular, which means it serves as a place to worship god Vishnu, the Preserver. Pura Puseh Batuan temple not only emits a high spiritual vibration, but also represents the important Balinese historical values. It contains many stunning ancient relics from prehistoric times. This can be helpful if they are lost or stolen.

Drink & Hydrate! Always bring enough water for a day (surplus, even) to keep you hydrated. Water is a critical supply essential to bring in your hiking session.
