Site area: 21354.38 sq. ft.

Client: Mr. Sushil Singhal

The residence project is currently ongoing. The exterior is almost finished, and the interior is about to begin. I was involved in the interior design of the Puja room, meditation room, ground floor master bedroom with walk in closet and bathroom, first floor master bedroom’s walk in closet and bathroom, and guest room’s walk in closet and bathroom. The theme is traditional, similar to Kerela style homes, and the clients are more inclined to Vaastu, so everything was designed with according to Vaastu, while keeping the clients’ preferences and requirements in mind. As a result, the interiors follow the same theme as the exterior.

MY INVOLVEMENT:

I was involved in interior design of this project. I designed the interior spaces of Puja room, meditation room, ground floor master bedroom with walk in closet and bathroom, first floor master bedroom’s walk in closet and bathroom, and guest room’s walk in closet and bathroom. Throughout this process, I researched traditional Kerela architecture, Vaastu, the tones, materials, textures, furnitures and elements to be used in the project. The mood board was created before designing to better understand how the idea will work. The spaces were then designed to meet the requirements using design principles. Finally, the interiors were rendered in order to provide a view of the rooms.

Master Bedroom Of Ground Floor

According to Vaastu, the room of head of the house should be located in South West of the house touching the ground. Hence, this room lies at the South West corner in ground floor of the house. As the theme is traditional at the same time its keeping with the today’s time. Keeping up that in mind and changing according to clients changes and their perception of their room the design was finalized. The walk in closet and washroom is made similar to bedroom following the same theme.

Guest Bedroom

According to Vaastu, the room for the guest should be located in North West of the house. Blending with the traditional and modern design, the colour used are earthy tones and brass as a metal. The walk in closet wardrobe is off white to blend withearthy tones to make it look spacious and brighter.
