Maslinic Acid is a potent inhibitor of the production of TNFa, IL-6 and PGE2 in a concentration-dependent.
However, Maslinic Acid did not inhinit the production of IL-1β and the lowest concentrations were able to increase production in monocytes treated with LPS. This result confirms the specificity of Maslinic Acid in the inhibition of determined proinflammatory mediators.

This test was performed by a dermatologist: 20 female participants, ages between 30 to 60 years old, with signs of skin aging, were recruited; the cosmetic product was applied to the face twice daily for 60 days.
