t takes only 30 minutes to make a pillowcase ase using our simple instructions…and they are re lots of fun to sew! And they look great on the bed with the coordinating quilt. Be creative with added ruffles or additional borders!

Assembly Fold the pillowcase, right sides together and matching border seams. Stitch along the side and bottom edges.

Materials you will need:

Standard Twin or Double (Queen, King) (Note: Information for the queen and king sizes are shown in coral and gold.) ◆ 7/8 (7/8, 1) yard of a main print (body) ◆ 3/8 (1/2, 1/2) yard of a coordinating print (border) ◆ 1/8 (1/8, 1/8) yard of a contrasting print (trim)

Cutting directions:

From the main print: (1) 27" x 43" (30" x 43"; 35" x 43") piece From the coordinating print: (1) 13" x 43" (15" x 43"; 17" x 43") piece From the contrasting print: (1) 3" x 43" (3-1/2" x 43"; 4" x 43") strip

Sewing the Standard Pillowcase Fold the 3" x 43" contrasting trim strip in half, wrong sides together and press. Layer the trim and then the 13" x 43" coordinating border on one end of the 27" x 43" main print pillowcase body, raw edges together. Sew, using a 1/2" seam allowance through all of the layers. Press open with the trim pressed toward the border piece.

Finishing Turn the pillowcase right side out. Press the border piece to the wrong side 1/4". Fold the border piece again to the inside seam and cover the seam with the 1/4" hem. Stitch “in the ditch” on the trim seam being careful to catch in the 1/4" border hem. In the same manner, stitch the queen or king size pillowcases.
