Our groups aim with this brief was to exhibit the diversity of each city and their culture, while also showing them to be unified together as a working capital of northern England.
Logo
The initial stages of the branding called for a logo which embodied the idea of bringing the cities together. The initial designs incorporated the shapes of the negatives of letters in each city, and this was then developed into creating shapes which correspond to the location of each city in the UK.

Train/Taxis
In order to highlight each city and it’s diversity, while also bringing them together, the designs are interpretations of each city’s skyline, maintaining consistency throughout each design, while also making a point of their differences.

Final Trains
The final designs effectively correspond with the concept we had for the brand, communicating unity, modernity, variety and diversity. Each design is individual to the city the train would run in, and is brought together as one entity through the colour schemes and the logo.

Final Taxis
Featuring the same design as the corresponding city’s train, the taxis continue on the running themes of the brand. On top of this it was proposed that Capital North train tickets will entitle users to a discounted taxi fair in the city they traveled to.
