The Book of Monkman Brief
This live brief was set by Creative Advertising student Will Monkman, who wanted his portfolio to be designed similar to a bible, due to a play on words with his name. This would be a digital portfolio, so he wanted the worn and dated nature of an old bible to come across on screen.

Research
Much of the research was looking into modern designs of books and brands with a similar theme, however, Will was very specific with what he wanted, and he didn’t particularly think that a modernised design of a bible was what he had in mind.
Development
The book featured a few ornate embellishments to the pages, as well as a short explanation of each portfolio piece in a very medieval style font. The opening page uses a leathery texture in order to give the impression of a worn, and dated book.

Final Portfolio
The final design uses a parchment background which was provided by Will and scanned in. Each page allows for a short explanation of the featured work and is accompanied by simple gold illustrations to give an impression of grandeur in spite of age.
