Research
The initial stages of research look at traditional versus modern typography, and the ways in which serif and sans serif differ. The decision to combine these two approaches came from this point, as the challenge became apparent given that their defining features are opposites.

By identifying the ways in which other people approach a similar challenge, it became clear that it was important to define a starting point. This is when the decision was made to use Times New Roman as a base, as this type family is the embodiment of tradition.

Final Solution
The letters have been split by upper or lowercase, to highlight the subtle different between the two. The lowercase has been designed to appear slightly softer than the uppercase, which is sharp and angular. Final Solution
The final designs for the typeface work with the letters all in conjunction with each other, and also when placed in context with another typeface, which makes it an ideal choice for headers and titles. Moreover, it draws attention from the viewer because it is still slightly recognisable as it’s base font, but then leads the viewer in another direction.
