Brief:
Create a range of packaging for MAC Cosmetics limited edition 15 piece make up collection in collaboration with Tim Burton's Alice In wonderland.
Packaging
Concept:
A range of packaging that combines both the signature MAC black and white branding with statement MAC logo and the atmosphere and bold characters from Alice in Wonderland. Use realistic style illustrations to honour the film, and make it recognisable to audiences that may and may not have seen the film.

Research
The aesthetic is very much reflective of the atmosphere of the film which is very dark and mysterious, images of 'Wonderland' taken from the film inspired elements such as the colour pallet and foil finishing.

Development
In terms of development I mostly looked at how to make the box most recognisable for MAC customers who may not have seen the Tim Burton Film but know of it. I looked at what characters/ props to include across the range of boxes. The final design utilises the most 'siginificant' character in the film, whom is featured on most of the advertising and packaging but also has the most dramatic make up look in the film.

Aesthetic
A black foil on matte black card finishing was implemented to reflect the dark and mysterious qualities of the film allowing the logo printed in black gloss foil to be visible from some angles and hidden from others. The style of illustration used to convey characters and film props on the box is very realistic to ensure that all MAC customers can understand the link to the Tim Burton film rather than other versions.
