nce upon a time ... The beginning of a fairytale promises a journey into a fantasy world and awakens memories of childhood. Without fairytales the childhood would be unimaginable. And without fantasies fairytales would be boring and unimaginative. Maybe fantasies do not exist in the real world, but what they inspire us in ourselves is true. Because our emotions and dreams do exist. In the world of science they say "Nothing is impossible as long as you can imagine it". Thus already this one statement ins-

pires us and fires the imagination. Fantasy is also a source of inspiration. The world of design needs a lot of fantasies, art needs a lot of fantasies. In short summary: Creativity needs fantasies. And in the world of design creativity is in great demand. It is not without reason, why the most successful designers are the most creative ones. I am thinking of major names like Tom Dixon, Jaime Hayón, Patricia Urquiola and a few others. These designers und their imaginations make things look great and beautify our homes. ometimes you may feel a yearning for a simple life. There are some peoples of the world who live their life this way. By the Lake Titicaca in the locality of Puno in Peru the Uru people live on what the nature Produces and only own the things they really need. They may have no other choice, but they are proud of their culture and live in happiness. Their homes are made of local sedges and built on moveable selfmade islands. This tradition is based on their ancestors, who protected themselves against enemies by moving the islands away. Untill today the Uru people would never live on the mainland. The Uru people are open and friendly and welcome tourists very warmly. By guiding the visitors and Selling their handicrafts they can earn a bit of money for the livelihood.
