Hi!
Mai Porras Assistant Fashion Editor
July is an important month. Partly, it’s because DreamGirl Singapore 2015 has finally launched to the Media but mainly, because it’s the month our Creative Director was born. I was initially told to dedicate this space to DreamGirl Singapore 2015, but I felt that I’ve already dedicated too many pages to this notion of empowerment. After all, who best to represent empowerment than the smart, resilient person who makes this magazine beautiful? Thence, I dedicate this little space to an important individual, our very own DreamGirl, Louielyn Mata. Here’s to wishing her a great start to a brand new year of her life. Show the girls at DreamGirl Singapore what it truly means to be The DreamGirl! If not to all, to me.

Shopping is a lot of things. It’s fun, it’s the perfect way to bond with your girls, and proves to be therapeutic for people who wish to escape the real world to play Barbie. But shopping can be a huge problem as well if you’re a hardcore shopaholic like Rebecca Bloomwood. Luckily, you don’t have to keep splurging your hard-earned cash on things that you won’t be using three years from now. Accessorising is one of the best parts of dressing up because every piece of jewellery that you put on creates a different plot twist to your outfit. While shopping for a necklace or a pair of earrings from Forever 21 is always fun, there is something about owning a piece of jewellery that tells a story and makes accessorising more intriguing. Back then, almost every woman owned a charm bracelet to solidify their memories in place of a single charm. But fashion, like technology, has become more innovative these days. Now, you can tell a story through charms in a form of a locket, a keychain, and so much more.
By: Janelle Yau
With over a hundred charms and birthstones available, you can create a charm locket that tells the story of your first date, your passions in life, your achievements, and even something as simple yet quirky as your favourite snacks back when you were still a kid.

Available in different shapes and sizes, you can rest assured that no charm locket can ever be the same. After all, every person has a different story they wish to convey.
This unique piece is the perfect gift to give your friends or yourself. Now, keeping memories or someone close to your heart won’t be as hard as people would normally think.
To top it all off, you will look stylish, fun, and quirky!
Now you won’t just have to wear your heart on your sleeve, but you can also wear and share your story in a form of a cute and ultra-chic locket.

First time to wear print problem! Choose a top w classic cut, and go for print like florals to start
Back in the day, women avoided wearing prints like the plague. Fast-forward to the present, fashion lovers now choose prints over basics, and even mix two or more prints in one outfit. From mixing stripes and checks, florals, and polka dots, wearing patterns don’t always have to look messy. In fact, it can be surprisingly cool and elegant. While the print trend may not be for the faint at heart, these pieces prove that even the most basic girls can incorporate prints into their outfits.

Florence Fling , PHP 3,100 If you’re feeling bold and fearless, wear a printed playsuit! You will surely draw attention with every step you take.
While dressing up in prints is always fun, there are some print on print rules to always keep in mind to avoid looking like a hot mess. While mixing stripes and florals sound fun, make sure that you choose prints that belong to the same category. For example, you can pair a classic plaid with a houndstooth print because both belong to the checks family. Don’t go too crazy. Never mix more than two prints in one look. Wear patterns that share a similar colour palette, like blacks, whites, browns, and so on. W W W. S A U C E I N K . C O M
Keep, Store, or Toss? Adding new pieces into your wardrobe is always a fun idea, but let’s face it: most of the clothes that are hanging in your closet are there for sentimental reasons or only to make it look fuller. Remember that scene in the Sex and the City movie where Carrie and her friends organised a keep, store, and toss afternoon for Carrie’s closet? Well, it’s about time you do that too by taking this short quiz below. By: Janelle Yau

REGULARS: BACHELOR OF THE MONTH
Q: Introduce yourself (anything and everything you can think of) e.g. interest/pastime, etc: I’m just an ordinary guy who believes that dreams should be extraordinary and that we are all born to be winners! I love to spend my free time (when not on shoots) watching funny videos on YouTube, writing new songs, practising my favourite monologues, or watching an old movie. I dedicate myself to running every week at the park where I also take the time to reflect on what and how I did the past week and try to improve on myself.
Q: In ten words (or so) describe who you are: I am a very persistent person. Q: Tell us about your regular working day: I wake up at 6, do some pushups and go straight to the showers! I make breakfast which usually is just coffee and bread then head out for a shoot. I love being on set very early as I get the chance to sit down and prepare myself for the role. Q: What is your best asset? I would say I can speak to anyone about anything.
Q: If you could change something about yourself, what would it be?
Q: What is your ideal date night like?
I would love to get rid of my eye bags permanently as I usually have very minimal sleep due to my busy schedule.
I would bring that special someone out for dinner on one of those boats that circle around Singapore River, watch funny videos together on my phone, and have a good laugh.

Q: If you weren’t acting, what other field would you like to enter?
Q: What is your biggest relationship fear?
Well, I studied Music in LASALLE College of the Arts back in 2005 and honestly, I didn’t plan to act full-time initially! I have always been fond of writing and singing my own music. In fact, I did try out singing full-time for two years, but I found it seriously hard as I didn’t like the idea of singing at a bar. Lucky for me , I am also a partner for One Regency Pte. Ltd., and I guess if I weren’t acting, I will just focus on building my business with my partner.
My fear is that if I were to give my 100 percent to that special someone, I will never be able to know if she would love me back 100 percent, too. That has always creeped me out.
Q: What was the biggest challenge you had to face?
Haha! There was a time when I wasn’t acting much and I haven’t ventured into business yet and I was pretty much broke. I had to do some “illegal” busking at Clarke Quay on weekdays, as during weekends there were regular buskers who would be really mad at me if I took their spot. That time was really challenging for me as I was pretty much all by myself without any familial support when it comes to my love for the arts.

Q: What is your idea of success?
Success to me is being able to live in content, doing what you love, and finding balance between work, play, and family. Having said that, I’m not saying one should not work hard to achieve stuff, but rather, one should strive to achieve the impossible and continue to pay it forward and still be contented despite the outcomes. Its easier said than done and I’m still working on it, too!

Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth are the five basic elements that make up all things in the universe. These elements are believed to have close relation to our health. Knowing how to balance the five elements in our body is the key to a better body and soul. Today, we are sharing ways to help you attain a healthy body and mind.
KNOW YOUR ELEMENT
The shape of a person’s face determines his or her element. ‘Gold’ is for people with a round face. ‘Wood’ is for long-faced individuals, while ‘Earth’ is for square-faced ones. ‘Fire’ and ‘Water’ are for people with heart-shaped and oval-shaped faces, respectively.

People of Gold element have a higher yin and lower yang, therefore diet should focus on lowering the yin to achieve a balance. They are easily tired and should eat more sour and spicy food.
Ways to improve health: Exercise more; detox with tea. Lucky food: Eat more food that prevents allergy and have inflammatory properties, like onion, garlic, snow pear.
People of Wood element are short-tempered and impulsive. It is advisable for them to eat more bitter and sweet food
Ways to improve health: Avoid staying seated for
a long time and eat more green vegetables
Lucky food:
Green, leafy food and those that are rich in vitamins would benefit the liver. Examples are cabbage, bitter gourd, and spinach.
People of Water element are prone to have genitourinary problems. Women tend to have a weak uterus and may experience coldness of the hands and feet. Diet should focus on nourishing the kidneys.
Ways to improve health: Wear black and blue
clothing; eat more fish, black fungus, and winter melon
Lucky food: : Food that stimulate melamine production in the
body like black beans, black sesame, and blueberries. These can boost metabolism and improve systems that are closely related to the kidney, bladder, and bones. J U LY 2 0 1 5

People of Fire element tend to have a stronger yang. Therefore, a healthy diet is needed to balance the yin and the yang. If health is not well taken care of, these individuals can become prone to high blood pressure and heart related problems and diseases.
Ways to improve health: Eat watermelon,
capsicum, red dragon fruit, and wear more red clothing.
Lucky food: Food such as bitter gourd, potato, pumpkin
and carrot can potentially lower blood pressure, strengthen blood vessel and maintain health circulation.
People of earth element tend to have a stronger spleen, stomach, and body constitution, but are prone to problems related to blood sugar level. Diet should focus on reducing the ‘heat’ in the body.
Ways to improve health: Exercise
regularly, have a balanced diet
Lucky food: Food that are rich in
vitamin C such as orange, pumpkin, and carrots. This would boost the absorption of nutrients in the intestines and stomach

ee what’s going on behind the scenes of a Dior fashion show—and no, it does not involve bribing a Parisian guard. Following YSL’s foray into Google Glass makeup tutorials last year, fashion giant Dior partners with DigitalLBi Labs in France to harness the power of technology in creating ultra-immersive virtual reality experiences. The Dior Eyes, as the headsets were called, are especially designed to give fashionistas a comprehensive peek into the makings of the latest Dior Ready-to-Wear show. 48

The VR headsets are rather impressive. According to the developers, the Dior Eyes will be the first of its kind to incorporate 360° video and binaural audio. The headset embeds a Galaxy Note 4 for display, suggesting the Samsung Gear VR may be at its core. Once activated, it provides a 2K image resolution with an almost 100° field of view. The Dior Eyes will transport you right into the backstage, where all the action happens. With the Dior Eyes, you can watch in awe as Dior creative and image director Peter Philipps applies makeup on your favourite models, while sharing a beauty tip or two. The headsets have hit select stores in June, allowing voyeuristic fashion lovers to experience the thrill and high energy that can only happen behind the Dior runway.

An ethereal glow sans makeup is every woman’s dream. Luckily for us, healthy, beautiful skin isn’t such a long shot, thanks to facial treatments. Facial treatments are more than simply something you do on your metime. Apart from a clearer skin, there are so many other benefits your skin can reap from making facial treatments a part of your beauty ritual--some of them, you might not even be aware of. We dish out some of the wonders facial treatments can do for you.
By: Mai Porras
Deep Cleansing
Clogging of the pores is one of the main causes of acne. As your practitioner extracts blackheads and other causes of clogged pores, your skin becomes less prone to breakouts.
Even Skin Tone
Facial treatments involve steaming. Apart from making blackheads and other skin impurities easier to remove, steaming also improves blood circulation, making your face more radiant and your skin tone, more even. There are also types of facial treatments that can altogether zap acne scars as if they never happened.
Younger Looking Skin Your quest to finding the perfect age-defying product ends with facial treatments. While there is no way to stop aging, regular treatments can cause the aging process of your skin to slow down. There are a variety of facial treatments out there such as collagen treatments and IPL treatments that can remove dead skin and improve cell growth and development, giving you supple, more youthful skin.
Aesthetic and Traditional Beauty Salons Now that you are aware of what facial treatments can do for your skin, probably the most important question here is, “Where do I go for facial treatments? You have two options for your facial care needs, an aesthetic salon and a traditional beauty salon.
Aesthetic Facial Salons Aesthetic facial salons, or medispas, combine medical beauty procedures with traditional spa treatments to achieve the outcome you desire. The procedures are performed by certified practitioners and doctors using the latest skincare technology and techniques such as soft lasers and hydrafacials or factional lasers.
Traditional Facial Salons In traditional beauty salons, the treatments are more product-based and are done by certified therapists. A traditional salon is your go-to destination for treatments like diamond peel, IPL skin rejuvenation, micro dermabrasion, LHE light therapy, RF heat therapy (Tripolar RF), and Oxygen jet, among many others. When it comes to caring for your skin, a one-size-fits-all approach will not suffice. In deciding on the kind of treatment that will work for your skin type, it is always best to consult an expert. Discover and enjoy brighter, smoother, clearer, and softer skin with facial treatments! Remember, women who feel good and comfortable in their own skin are always the most beautiful.

Beauty queens have always been the epitome of beauty, class, grace, and brains, and because of this, a lot of women aspire to become one. Unfortunately, there are plenty of rather tough requirements that need to be met before being able to vie for the crown, with height requirement topping the list. DreamGirl SG, an upcoming event in Singapore, is about to break beauty pageant norms and show the world that indeed, there is more to a woman than simply beauty and height. DreamGirl SG is about finding ladies who are beautiful, intelligent, and passionate, yet have been deemed unfit according to conventional height requirements for pageants or modelling. It is an extraordinary competition because it doesn’t focus on the beauty and grace of the contestants, but rather on their character and abilities. This is an amazing platform that gives petite women everywhere the chance to fight for their dreams, gain confidence, and be empowered to become the strong independent woman that they truly are. With so many prizes up for grabs including the chance to fly to the Philippines and be the cover girl of SAUCEink Magazine, all hell is about to break loose with Dream Girl SG.
Date: Saturday, 29th of August 2015 Time: 6:00pm (Doors open at 5:30pm) Venue: Fashion TV Club Singapore (F.Club)

3. Describe the one passion you have in life. To break free of the income status that I’m in, to inspire and empower people to not give in to standards. 4. If you had to pick one woman as the source of your inspiration, who would it be and why? Angelina Jolie would be the source of my inspiration. Fearless, brave, and empowering. 5. 1. What do you think does this competition represent? DreamGirl SG is an opportunity for me to feel more comfortable with my body and my overall self. Normally, I wouldn’t even consider taking part in pageants because I question what I even have to offer. It is not that I think I’m not good looking enough, because beauty is so subjective, I just don’t think other people would agree. Due to the fact that DreamGirl SG is not solely based on looks, I feel like I still have a fighting chance. 2. What is your definition of a beautiful woman? In my opinion, a beautiful woman is any woman confident and comfortable in her own skin. It might sound like such a simple thing to do but it’s harder than it sounds. In this day and age, the media plays a very big part in what defines beauty and more often than not, it influences us to have very unrealistic expectations of ourselves. For me, I feel the most beautiful after a productive gym session.

3. Describe the one passion you have in life. My passion in life is to be happy. Whether that’s when I’m playing my music to a crowd, or caring for the kids at my daycare centre I’m an assistant teacher at or at the gym when I’m lifting heavier than one or two guys at my gym. 4. If you had to pick one woman as the source of your inspiration, who would it be and why? My grandmother! Because even after so many years, I think she’s still one of the most beautiful women I’ve met. Not to brag, but she ages like Julie Andrews and I hope that one day I would too. She’s also emotionally strong, having to raise 6 kids and then her kids’ kids, which included me for a while. 5. If you can wear one type of clothing for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? I don’t have the best fashion sense as I’m generally low maintenance, fashion-wise. In fact, I only dress up when I absolutely have to, like going to the city or meeting a couple of friends for a day out or for times when I know I’m going to be filmed or taken a picture of, which is during every DreamGirl SG activity. But I’d wear what I usually wear to the gym as it’s the comfiest and easiest to put together. That’s a pair of FBTs, my baggiest shirts with the sleeves cut off, and a sports bra.
I S S U U. C O M / S A U C E I N K
2.What is your definition of a beautiful woman? Beautiful is a powerful word. It is an adjective that holds power and prestige. There is a clear difference between hot and beautiful and I believe that a beautiful woman is one who possesses confidence and humility. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and beauty is skindeep. However, I believe that it is the way she presents herself, the way she talks and walks. Someone who only relies on herself and no one else. She does not seek attention, neither does she want to chase the limelight, but it becomes eventually endowed to her, naturally. She would work hard for the things she wants and does not ask for more. She would put her

1. What do you think does this competition represent? A unique competition where girls who do not meet the height requirement for pageants or modelling come together and strive for their dreams and at the same time, they’re given a chance to show everyone that a ‘pretty face’ is not all you need to be outstanding. Personally, I hope to gain more confidence through this competition. Most of us are here for experience and I am here expose myself to things that I have never tried before. I hope that through that, I can be able to step out of my own comfort zone through all the challenges given. This is not something that anyone gets to try easily. Therefore, if I’m lucky enough to be given this chance, I would do my best and hopefully inspire other girls out there to think that if I can do it, then why can’t they?

family members and close friends first but at the same time practise self-love. A beautiful woman isn’t about requiring a man, rather a beautiful woman comprehends that she, herself, is sufficient. It’s the kind of quality that raises a woman from just being sexy or hot. It’s the way she glows from the inside-out by feeling confident. She does not do anything for anyone but only for herself. Her looks do not define solely who she is, meaning that she would dare to go barefaced without feeling the need to hide. 3. Describe the one passion you have in life. To live my life to the fullest! I would love to travel around the world and visit places I have always wanted to in a few years’ time. To make every day count because we are only given one life and so it is important to make each day matter so, I wouldn’t end up with regrets. 4. If you had to pick one woman as the source of your inspiration, who would it be and why? It would be none other than my amazing mother. I know that many of the other contestants would probably have the same answer as me but no doubt you can never deny that the fact that your mother is someone that everyone looks up to. My mum is selfless. She gives and never expects anything in return. She only wants the best for me and she has taught me how to give and take. Throughout the years, she has taught me many things in life and guides me when it comes to handling my emotions of fear, anger, joy, sadness, hate, and anxiety well. She’s definitely a good influence in my life because she always encourages me to reach my full potential. She’s someone I can talk whenever or about whatever, knowing would never judge me because she truly wants to help. 5. If you can wear one type of clothing for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? I think it would be something bright and striking! Like something in neon pink or yellow or a glittered top, so I can stand out and people would notice me easily. Hahaha. Not like I want to be in the limelight or something, but it would be pretty cool because if I were to wear that for the rest of my life, my friends would know that is me and would recognize me easily from afar!

Not all of us are tall, have long lashes, a slender waist or an elegant behaviour. However, we are all beautiful in our own ways and we shouldn’t be shy about who we really are inside. Instead, we should dare to be different and be comfortable with who we are. I think DreamGirl SG is a competition that is more than just beauty and physique. Throughout this journey, we have been through numerous physical activities - some of which we have not done before. It is always exciting, as we can learn something about ourselves that we never knew before.

4. If you had to pick one woman as the source of your inspiration, who would it be and why? Mother Teresa. She is different from many others, she was selfless, and selflessness is the rarest attribute there is. 5. If you can wear one type of clothing for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? Sportswear, specifically Nike tights and UnderArmour compression shirts. It’s comfortable, body hugging, tight, sexy, sporty, and fun.
2. What is your definition of a beautiful woman? A woman who is confident about being herself, contented with what she has, and hungry for knowledge. 3. Describe the one passion you have in life. I have a passion and hunger for knowledge. There are many things I want to study and many more things that I want to try in life. Time is my biggest enemy, if only I could freeze time and be in this age forever. I’d study every course the schools have to offer and try every sport there is.

1. What do you think does this competition represent? Unlike other beauty contests, this competition doesn’t give much importance on the appearance. It is more on bringing out the best in each individual’s personality, their being outgoing and most of all, being able to be ourselves! 2. What is your definition of a beautiful woman? I feel that being beautiful is never about the looks, it’s the confidence that one has. For me, being confident means you have already won half the battle, regardless of what you’re doing. And of course, being financially independent as well.
3. Describe the one passion you have in life. I think I have yet to find my passion in life. I am not very sure whether I want to live the life I think I should live, or the live I want to live. So for now, YOLO! Hahahaha #YouOnlyLiveOnce 4. If you had to pick one woman as the source of your inspiration, who would it be and why? To be honest, there isn’t anyone that I would want to pick. I just want it to be myself. That’s the only way to know the best version I can be without following the form of anybody else. 5. If you can wear one type of clothing for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? Probably a romper? First things first, I don’t have to think of coordinating the whole outfit for both top and bottom, because I’m a very lazy person. And the best part is, I only have to pull it up and I’m done.

1. What do you think does this competition represent? I think this competition represents a positive image for petite girls. It allows them to stand a chance to shine on-stage. Apart from beauty, I feel that this competition is mainly to test your attitude in learning as well as not being afraid to be your own self. This clearly made me realize that even a normal girl like me can get an opportunity to chase my own dreams and to let the world know that not only those who fit into the requirements can get to shine on stage. Furthermore, people always think that you must be good looking in order to be outstanding, but with DreamGirl SG, this could probably be an assurance for all the ladies out there that talent and good character is the key to showcasing their talent.

3. Describe the one passion you have in life. I am an animal lover since young and I am passionate in taking care of animals especially homeless dogs and cats. They are the one who can’t speak, who can’t cry and they are the one who need our protection. I am extremely heartbroken to learn every single case of animal abuse being reported in the news. I always ask myself, if a dog on the street that has nothing is willing to give us their all, how come we humans who have everything be so cruel? Therefore, I am passionate about protecting our little friends and sheltering them.
2. What is your definition of a beautiful woman? I feel that in order to be beautiful, confidence is the first factor that a woman must have. As a quote goes “Confidence is the sexiest thing a woman can wear”, so this has greatly impacted me. I do agree that confidence plays a big role in being beautiful. Apart from having nice facial features which is a plus point, a beautiful woman will also not be afraid of being themselves. When their inner beauty shines out more than their outer beauty, this is when a beautiful woman is created.

4. If you had to pick one woman as the source of your inspiration, who would it be and why? Basically I have a few women that have inspired me in my life. But apart from my dearest mother and grandmother, I wish to point out a woman who is totally not related to me, but had been capable to inspire me and touch my heart. This legendary woman is Laurentia Tan Yen Yi. The 36 years old Singaporean athlete developed cerebral palsy and deafness after birth and was often judged by her school teachers and nurses for being troublesome. Despite all the hardships and sufferings she had to endure, she took up horse-riding in London as physiotherapy. This helped her regain her confidence and later, she took part in a riding competition for the disable. Laurentia then progressed to the Nationals, and were invited to join the 2008 summer Paralympics. She received several medals due to her hard work and her resilience and attitude are what truly inspire me. Through Laurentia, I learned that no matter if you are physically-abled or disabled, good-looking or not, as long as you do not give up, you will shine one day.

5. If you can wear one type of clothing for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? I will prefer wearing fashionable clothing because I like to wear trendy apparel and I feel that they look more outstanding. I think that I am the type of person who is more particular about fashion rather than quality, so that would probably satisfy my vanity. It is also a way to express one’s inner creativity and since fashion never gets old, this will probably be the type of clothing that I hope to wear for the rest of my life.

1. What do you think does this competition represent? It is a challenge and test of individual characteristics. 2. What is your definition of a beautiful woman? A girl who is confident, sincere and nurturing in nature, while being able to take care of herself is beautiful. 3. Describe the one passion you have in life. I have too many passions in life such as cooking, dancing, sports etc. But the most important is my passion for life and people. I try to always approach each day with a smile and a positive outlook. I fully believe in seizing every moment, and I try to reach my full potential in everything I do. I cherish the simple things in life, and most of all, I cherish the relationships I have with people in my life especially my family. My family has always supported me in all that I do and provided me with priceless love and care that I will always be thankful for.

4. If you had to pick one woman as the source of your inspiration, who would it be and why? Angelina Jolie. She is one admirable lady. She proactively subjected herself to a traumatic, life changing, painful, and aggressive surgery rather than keeping it private and moving on with her life. This certainly is hard enough to do. Yet, she shared her story with the world, opening up about an incredibly personal choice, all with the hope that it will help other women who are struggling with the same reality. She is setting a strong example, telling the world that it’s better to face your fears and leverage the medical technology that is available to us today! 5. If you can wear one type of clothing for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? I love some of my shirt dresses, although they look simple, they can be styled with pretty much any accessory, to suit different occasions.

VANESSA 1. What do you think does this competition represent? I think this competition is about female empowerment and most importantly, believing in yourself. I like that none of the events we took part in promoted looks in anyway. It is a beauty pageant, but I like to think of it more as character evaluation, to prove that not all pageants are no-brainer pageants. 2.What is your definition of a beautiful woman? Somebody who is selfless, confident and smart. Somebody who is able to hold her own self anywhere. I think the definition of beauty has been somewhat flawed in our society and people are usually judged by their looks first. But beauty is only skin deep, and a woman can be truly beautiful if she also has a good heart.

3. Describe the one passion you have in life. I am passionate about saving animals and learning about wildlife. Basically everything to do with the beauty and wonder of Mother Nature excites me. I’ve volunteered in the wildlife rescue team at Acres and I really hope to be a source of inspiration in any way I can with regards to this area. 4. If you had to pick one woman as the source of your inspiration, who would it be and why? Hands down, definitely my mother. I know this sounds cliché but I cannot think of another woman who is as patient and selfless as her. Most importantly, she has taught me to be an upright person and to love myself regardless of the situation. 5. If you can wear one type of clothing for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? My birthday suit? If it’s going to be the rest of my life then I want to be comfortable. But I get cold easily, so maybe my birthday suit accompanied by a jacket? Hahahaha

Back in the day, women find it a real struggle to create the kind of ensemble that can make people’s jaws drop in awe. Finding a dress in the colour, cut and style that will highlight your best features and hide what needs to be concealed all while impressing onlookers is simply not an easy feat. But those days are finally over. To the delight of fashion lovers everywhere, personal styling app Deja is now here to save women from irreversible fashion woes and disasters. What’s more, Deja makes online shopping a whole lot easier, as the app allows women to actually see how clothes sold online would fare on them. By Mai Porras, Ask Deja
Welcome to Deja, the best styling app today. It is a Fashion Advisor, Virtual Mannequin and Look-Book, to get your everyday fashion inspirations on the go.
Setting Deja up is as easy as ABC. After snapping a selfie, you will be asked to put in notable physical traits, so Deja can generate a virtual mannequin that looks just like you. Then, you can start styling your mannequin by mixing and matching pieces. Deja is an interactive app that makes it easy for fashionistas of all shapes and sizes to discover the outfit that suits their personal fashion style and preference. In choosing the perfect outfit, knowing your body shape is key. Take this short quiz to find out your body type and the types of clothes that highlight your best assets.
Know your body shape Q1. Do you have wider shoulders or hips? a. My shoulders are wider (see result A) b. My hips are wider (see result B) c. Both are about the same -> Q2
Q2. Do you have a well-defined waist? a. Yes (see result C) b. No -> Q3
Q3. Do you have a fuller bust and rounded stomach? a. Yes (see result D) b. No (see result E)
Result:
Mostly A’s: You have an inverted triangle /
athletic shaped body. Wear V or U-neck tops to make your shoulders appear smaller and flared skirts to widen your hips and achieve that hourglass figure.
Mostly B’s: You have a triangle / pear
shaped body. Wear tops with boat necklines or drapes as it can allow your shoulders and upper body to appear broader. Avoid skinny jeans or body hugging skirts and dresses.
Mostly C’s: You have
an hourglass shaped body. Wear tops that sit well at the waist and avoid wearing overly short skirts.
Result:
Mostly D’s: You have an apple / full figure shaped body. Try straight or slightly flared skirts and avoid tucking in your tops.
Mostly E’s:
You have an I-frame shaped body. Wear a pencil, A-lined skirt or high waist pants, as it can compliment and emphasize your figure. Avoid square neck tops and loose clothing.

s s 90 cool kids
90s fashion is an amazing era where you can find different fusion from 60s - 80s. Inspired from the 90s cool kids, like one of those that you had seen from Iggy Azalea and Charlie XCX’s music video, Fancy, I matched my outfit given from The Yub into a rebellious cool kid that consist of street goth, grunge and health goth. It’s a mixture of sporty tee and a pair of tennis socks with minimalistic skirt, adding in some angst from the beanie and making it grunge with a pair of creepers and furry bag.

Less more “Less is more. Allowing my Jord wood watch to shine on its own, I kept my outfit simple with a long white shirt dress which I accentuated with a long thick silver necklace. I wore a pair of wooden platforms to match my Jord wood watch. Sleek, modern and minimalistic, I still managed to make the look my own by adding my key player; the high socks. Something that you can’t miss being a 90s kid.”

Sunday With my current lilac hair colour, monotone clothing seems to give off a classic touch and a minimalist look. With a cropped top and a maxi skirt from Princessa, I enhanced the apparel with a bomber jacket, boots and beanie to spice up the look for a casual minimalist Sunday.
