TAKE a SEAT
LOBBY LIBRARY, THOMPSON SAVANNAH
THE LOBBY LIBRARY AT THOMPSON SAVANNAH, 201 Port St., is “a little oasis of tranquility,” says general manager Matthew Graham. Rendered in rich jewel tones with soft leather touches and layered, distressed textiles, all dreamed up by Kellie Sirna, cofounder of Studio 11 Design, the library offers a meaningful gathering place to sip on a cappuccino (or a cocktail) and indulge in quiet conversation — or, of course, a good book. “One of the most famous spots to meet was ‘under the clock’ at the New York Biltmore Hotel in Manhattan before heading out on the town,” Graham shares. “I would love to see that tradition to take shape here in Savannah, and for locals and guests to meet ‘under the stairs’ before enjoying the hotel, Eastern Wharf or the Historic District.”
