A Publication by Discover Baku
The proposed execution idea is a package holiday entitled ‘Discover Baku’ which promotes the city’s cultural assets abroad. One component to the idea is a travel pack enclosed with a publication filled with fascinating content and handy guides to prepare, inform and excite the visitor prior to their upcoming trip to Baku. 11

The Inevitable Rise of Easternisation: Can the Growing Affluence of the East Overthrow the Reigning Influence of the West? A self-devised research and implementation brief examining how China specifically, could apply traditional values and customs to counteract the consequences of waning Western thinking.
Portfolio
Contextual research revealed how desirable Western ideologies such as democracy and freedom were being contravened within the nations they are publicly championed in. Events such as the NSA spying scandal sparked widespread distrust of Western values, which calls for an alternative outlook to counteract the failures generated out of tired Western thinking.

The Execution: Dian Band The proposed execution idea aimed to counteract the severe levels of e-waste being dumped into the Chinese town of Guiyu from developed countries around the world. Metals found in discarded electronics would be sent to Dian Band and be used to create intricate ‘charms’ for a sustainable wristwear line.

EDITORIAL DESIGN Cover design and layouts for Platform Magazine Issue 10 Main achievement as Deputy Editor and Head of Design at Nottingham Trent Students’ Union’s official publication included redesigning the print editions. The new design direction was shortlisted for Best Design at the Student Publication Awards 2015.
