Crealdé School of Art is a community-based nonprofit organization established in 1975. We feature an affordable, sequential curriculum of more than 125 studio courses and workshops taught by professional artist instructors in Painting & Drawing, Photography, Ceramics, Sculpture, Fiber Arts, and Jewelry for adults and children, with hands-on experience emphasized. There are five 8-week sessions per year, plus Summer ArtCamp and Young Adult Immersion.
In addition, Crealdé offers an award-winning scholarship and outreach program to diverse communities in Central Florida.
The Showalter Hughes Community Gallery and The Alice and William Jenkins Gallery on the main campus present a changing variety of multidisciplinary visual art exhibitions by regional, national and international artists. The Contemporary Sculpture Garden overlooking Lake Sterling features more than 60 pieces of original art.

Hannibal Square Heritage Center, Crealdé’s second campus, represents a partnership with the City of Winter Park, and pays tribute to the past, present and future contributions of Winter Park’s African American community through an award-winning permanent collection of historic photographs and oral histories. Visiting Exhibition Gallery with Live Music
Born in Haiti in 1962 in the province of Jeremie—“the city of poets”— and formally educated in New York, the artist was first introduced to art by his father Robert Dimanche, making Patrick Noze a third generation sculptor and painter. He is a prolific painter, sculptor, curator, illustrator, restorer and creative painter of vintage cars, creating artwork mostly for private commissions in New York and his home in Florida. For this Crealdé solo exhibition, Patrick will show art work from private collections never seen before by the public and create an entire new body of paintings.
Elemental Landscapes: Womyn’s Alternative Photography Society International

Presented in partnership with Analog Film Photography Association and curated by Jacob Rodriguez, this is the inaugural exhibition of the Womyn’s Alternative Photography Society International, a collective focused on the intersection of alternative photography, science, and materiality. The collective promotes female and nonbinary artists who work with analogue and experimental photography. The artists featured are Sandra Davis ( Philadelphia, PA), Rachel Guardiola (Massapequa, NY), Melanie King (Kent, UK), and Dale Rio (Northeastern US).

As a holiday tribute, Crealdé School of Art partners with the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation to curate an exhibition of photographs and paintings that celebrate the special character of the historic downtown district. Under the direction of instructor Cathy Hempel, Crealdé students from the Jesse Brock Community Center will create a series of plein-air paintings depicting familiar and lesser-known scenes of Winter Garden. The Heritage Foundation is featuring archival photographs of B.P. Hannon, who captured local life while working as a photographer and camera store owner in mid-twentieth century Winter Garden.

Since 2020, Crealdé School of Art has partnered with FusionFest Orlando to help showcase Orange County’s cultural diversity through visual arts. For the third consecutive year, Crealdé will organize art-making at Fusion Fest’s Family Village—serving 350 participants in workshops over the two-day festival, which attracts over 5,000 visitors to downtown Orlando. Projects representing the 10 major regions of the world will be presented in 42 half-hour workshops over the two days. Past projects included Chanchitos from Latin America, Tiki totems from the South Pacific, Vejigante Masks from the Caribbean, Henna Designs from South Asia, “Imagine Words” in Origami Boxes from Japan, Buffalo Hide Painting from North America and African Dolls.
Crealdé’s Visiting Ceramics Instructor Eric André, M.F.A., will represent his country of Ghana with wheel demonstrations and display of his work.

For nearly four decades, this summer social, hosted by Vincent Sansone, Senior Faculty Member and former Ceramics Studio and Program Manager, brings smart shoppers and collectors to the main campus to browse through hundreds of one-of-a-kind ceramic cups, bowls, and other vessels handmade by Crealdé instructors, artists, students, and friends. As the tradition goes, buy a cup or goblet and it will be filled. Proceeds benefit upgrades to the Ceramics studio and kilns.

Since 1982, Crealdé has presented an annual exhibition featuring works of art from the 400 Summer ArtCamp participants, ages 4–17. It is curated by Crealdé’s Summer ArtCamp Faculty.
In order to maintain the quality of our programs, we require minimum number of enrolled students. Therefore, the following policies are in place for refunds, transfers, and withdrawals:
A transfer, withdrawal, credit, or refund must be requested 7 days prior to the first day of the session (see session dates above) by contacting the main office at 407-671 -1886 during business hours or email registration@crealde.org. Requests made less than 7 days before the first day of the session are not eligible. Class credits expire after one year. These policies apply regardless of attendance status.
All workshop withdrawal deadlines are at least one week prior to the workshop date. Registration deadlines for visiting artist workshops will vary. If withdrawal is made prior to deadline, student is eligible for a full refund. No refunds or credits will be made after the registration deadline.

Explore the art of filigree jewelry; how to make pendants, earrings, rings, etc. focusing only on silver filigree process and procedures. Students will be guided through this ancient filigree fabrication technique. There will be specific projects planned by the instructor with samples, demonstrations, and hands-on projects. Silver material will be provided for use in the class only and limited to the projects and assignments planned by the instructor. This class does not include any stone setting techniques.

Macramé is a form of textile that uses knotting techniques and comes from the 13th century weavers’ word for “fringe.” This fiber art was popular in the 60s and 70s and now it is back and as popular as ever. Eric Andre holds an MFA from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR, and a BFA from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology University, Kumasi, GH. He became a Teaching and Research Assistant and a Principal Lab/Studio Technician in the Ceramics Department, KNUST. Eric also worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas and a Curator at Art Ventures Gallery. This is an intro into the exciting world of Intaglio (pronounced in-tal-yo, meaning “incised”) chemical (actual etching) techniques, and the use of hard ground, soft ground and aquatint. Inking techniques such as simple monochromatic exploration, and color printing examples as a la poupeé and multiple plates are included. Drypoint will be demonstrated along with materials for use. Editions, framing, and care of original prints will be discussed.

Explore the beautiful vistas of Lake Sybelia in Maitland. On the first day, the instructor will demo how to capture the view that inspires you with paint on canvas. In the afternoon, students will receive one-on-one time in deciding their subject and its composition and how best to proceed. The last hour will be spent reviewing all of the work to find what is working and what might need to be modified. On the the second day, students will work again en Plein Air with a second painting. Later in the afternoon, we will go to Crealdé to review the paintings and receive individualized feedback on your work.

Learn to sketch from subject to the environment. Classroom sessions will focus on sketching clothed models and progress towards sketching the model and classroom environment. Learn to incorporate storytelling into your sketches in location sessions. Trips to local venues will challenge you to use your sketchbook the way a photojournalist uses a camera. The goal is to produce finished sketches using pencil, pen, and watercolor within two hours. Prereq: PD102, PD103 or similar experience.

Create a beautiful animal portrait in Scratchboard! Scratchboard is a very fine layer of kaolin spread onto a surface (either hardboard or paper) and coated with black ink. Get your subject to emerge out of the darkness by using a scratch tool with different techniques such as stippling, cross-hatching to create shading effects, or scraping away large areas of the surface to create highlights.

*First meet-up will be at the courtyard of Jessie Brock Community Center* In this Premium class, students will be working en plein air, or outdoors, exploring beautiful historic downtown Winter Garden while developing the skills and confidence to capture the fleeting effects of light on the landscape. Students will learn about composing strong design by creating Notan drawings simplifying and dividing the scene into shapes of light and dark. Then utilizing oil or acrylic paints, participants will learn to tone the canvas, sketch general shapes, block in dark and light areas to model forms and work from thin to thick paint layers and from big shapes to details.
On November 9th, the participating students will be showcasing some of their artwork in the It’s a Wonderful Life opening reception and exhibition located at Winter Garden City Hall. Members $325 • Non-members $345
