Bella, Scratchboard, by Faculty Artist Eliza

Create a beautiful animal portrait in Scratchboard! Scratchboard is a very fine layer of kaolin spread onto a surface (either hardboard or paper) and coated with black ink. Get your subject to emerge out of the darkness by using a scratch tool with different techniques such as stippling, cross-hatching to create shading effects, or scraping away large areas of the surface to create highlights.
