IT IS OUR GREAT PLEASURE TO BRING YOU THE 2021 HORIZON FESTIVAL As the Custodians of Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) and Jinibara Country our role within the festival is twofold; to strengthen the ecology of Kabi Kabi and Jinibara arts and cultural practices and to position Horizon Festival as a place where you can go to experience beautiful First Nations work that is deeply connected to Country and community. Each year we have been building the visibility for First Peoples on the Sunshine Coast. Across dance, visual arts, music, ceremony and film we tell the stories of the land, ancestral lines and knowledges, the people that have always been here and the people that have now come to call this place home. This year we bring back the much loved and celebrated Dawn Awakening at Stumers Creek, directed by Gubbi Gubbi Songman Lyndon Davis and featuring the Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe and First Voices Choir. We are also excited to present Kabi Kabi Connections, lighting up the region with large scale outdoor projections by Kabi Kabi artists. As we dream our way into restoration and a vision for the future where Kabi Kabi and Jinibara arts and culture are revitalised, centred and revered, we ask you to dream with us. Horizon Festival First Nations Advisory Group Aunty Helena Gulash Lyndon Davis Jason Murphy (on behalf of Jinibara)

DR LYNNE BRADLEY HORIZON FESTIVAL ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
At its heart Horizon Festival is deeply connected to place – promoting connection to Country through our First Nations program, celebrating the spectacular natural landscape of the Sunshine Coast and providing a platform for local artists. In 2021, we are thrilled to present an all-Queensland program with a focus on ecologically-engaged events that use the stunning beaches, mountains and waterways as their backdrop. We are also delighted to bring the iconic Wonderland Spiegeltent, complete with a world-class program, to the Sunshine Coast for the first time. Join us for 10 days of ceremony, dance, music, theatre, visual art, comedy, words + ideas and workshops as we celebrate the stories, people and places that bring joy and meaning to our lives.
THE HON. STIRLING HINCHLIFFE MP MINISTER FOR TOURISM INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION AND MINISTER FOR SPORT
