Next General Meeting Wednesday 7 October 2009 All members are invited to attend our next General Meeting to be held on Wednesday 7 October at 8.00pm. Prior to the meeting, from 6.30pm, come and enjoy a meal with fellow Club members. With the warmer weather approaching we will be enjoying a barbecue with steak, patties, sausages and salad at a cost of $12.00 per person. Please advise the office by 3.00pm on Friday 25 September if you wish to have a meal for catering purposes. Entertainment for the meeting will involve Graham Boulter conducting a round up of all things Lobethal. Come along and hear all about the event which by then will have just happened.

Bay to Birdwood Catering Due to the efforts of Jan Hurd, a SCCSA member who is also on the Bay to Birdwood committee, the Club was successful in tendering for the judges luncheon. A big thank you goes to Margaret and Kingsley Hoff, Di and Jon Pyle and Vicki and John Considine who cooked a great B-B-Q and provided fruit and cheese platters for approximately thirty judges on Sunday 27 September. This was great exposure for the SCC as all our volunteers wore Club apparel and aprons and interacted well with their guests. Distinguished guest judges included Isobel Redman (State Opp. Leader), Martin Hamilton – Smith MP, Mark Goldsworthy MP, Dr Jane Lomax- Smith MP, Police Commissioner Mal Hyde and Andrew Daniels, CEO Motor Accident Commission. I believe all the guests thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The Bay to Birdwood committee has enquired if the Club would be interested in catering for the Early V8 Fords National meeting on the Sunday long weekend in June 2010. This could be a huge fundraiser for the Club as we would be required to cater for a B-B-Q for perhaps 300 to 350 people! To cater for such an event would require some planning and no doubt depend on the number of volunteers willing to help out on the day – can you help? More details later.
