7 Years of Loving My Country Escape

Michelle is a vibrant, positive with a can-do kind of personality. When we first started working with Michelle and talking about her store in our Magazine, she often tabled her vision of taking My Country Escape to a whole new level.
By that she meant, making it a destination experience. She has certainly made that vision come to fruition, with an incredible shop renovation and fit-out, My Country Escape emulates a boutique found in perhaps some of the most sought-after country locations in Australia, maybe Bowral or the Gippsland region. However, you only need to drive into the village of Canungra to experience the 5-star offering that is My Country Escape.
Celebrating 7 years, the store has some wonderful events and prizes coming up for grabs. Michelle tells us that she feels the shop has come of age, that there has been a huge transformation over the years. You get a sense of pride when you listen to Michelle describe what the shop, her customers and her team mean to her.
“I can’t tell you how much this team of incredible women mean to me. I said to someone the other day what we have is so unique, and I believe we will look back on this time in our lives and say these are the best of times. I think this is why our customers are so loyal and keep coming back, they too are a part of our extended family, and we deeply care about them”. And then there is the buying, her vision has attracted the best of brands, many of which can only be found interstate. “This year I feel we have turned a corner; we now have French Country Collection and Bianca Lorenne which lifts the feel of the store completely but also adds a luxurious feel to some of our old favourites. We are so proud to be a signature store to some core Australian brands such as Ecoya and Maine Beach, and we are immensely proud to showcase locally handmade artisan products such as Beautiful batches. This year we have opened up some space for a selection of gorgeous, handmade, small batch food products, which have been so well received. Other brands such as The Perfume Oil Company, Emma Bridgewater, Jellycat, Latern Cove, Brave and True, Holiday, Wrendale cards, Galah Magazine, La Chamba, Minister Teas, Winnow Chocolate, Typoflora cards and Slip Mary Vally Food Co - all cult-like brands that bring our shoppers so much joy to find them right here in little old Canungra”. THE OVERFLOW ESTATE 1895
