The ancient circular village of Sant’Antonino, perched on a craggy rock overlooking the sea, is one of the oldest inhabited villages in Corsica and one of the highest. You’ll visit the beautiful lake cave Melissani, admiring the unique sculptures created by stalactites and its clear waters. A shrine to Ancient Greece, the cave was dedicated to the Greek god Pan and the nymph Melissani. You’ll reach the lake with your guide by an underground tunnel and explore by boat. Drogarati Cave is another natural masterpiece on the island. You’ll explore the Royal Balcony, a natural platform of lightreflecting stalactites. To pass to the next part of the cave, you’ll cross colored columns and a small lake.

On the way back to Fiskardo, you’ll stop at a balcony with wonderful views of the crystal blue Myrtos Beach where you can take some photos.

From the little harbor of Katakolon, it’s only a short drive through the bucolic land of Elis to the site of Olympia. Following your Greek guide into the site, where the ancient athletes competed to honor their gods, discover the great monuments one by one, including the archaic Temple of Hera and the huge Temple of Zeus which once housed one of the Seven Wonders of the World—the Golden Ivory Zeus! You’ll also see the unique Stadium and Bouleuterion where the competitors swore on oath to play fair. Nearby were Phedias’ Workshop, the Palaistra, and the Gymnasium, the site is beautifully shaded by the Judas and olive trees. Above all stands the perfectly shaped, conical Hill of Kronos. After a short break, continue to the museum to view the wonderful marble statues of the temple of Zeus, the famous Hermes of Praxiteles, and a unique collection of ancient pieces of armor and bronze figurines, all well preserved for centuries in the mud of adjacent Alpheios River.

Destroyed by an explosion in 1856, it was rebuilt in 1930 to its original grandeur. Visit Finca 6, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site and one of the four archaeological collections of unique pre-Colombian stone spheres located in chiefdom. There are four archaeological sites located in the Diquís Delta in southern Costa Rica, considered unique examples of the complex social, economic, and political systems of the period between 500–1500 AD.

Here you’ll witness a collection of stone spheres, whose meaning, use, and production remain largely a mystery. The spheres are distinctive for their perfection, quantity, size, and density.

Some expert theories suggest that the spheres are aligned with the stars and served as monumental compasses. Local lore tells that these spheres were the playthings of the gods to control the weather, but the truth remains unknown.

Today, explore the different volcano spots of Martinique, stopping first at the ruins of Saint Pierre, the most famous of the island. Before the eruption, it was the cultural and economic capital so-called the ‘Paris of the Caribbean’. The town was destroyed by a volcano eruption in 1902, killing 30,000 people except a prisoner named ‘Cyparis’, who was in an underground jail. You’ll then visit the 1902 memorial to learn Pelee Volcano history and eruption. Exploration continues through the rainforest to one of the best distilleries. This distillery is at the foot of Mount Pelée, benefitting from a special type of agricultural ground for sugar cane harvest. The rum of Martinique has a controlled designation of origin similar to wines and spirits, and it is the sole unique appellation of rum in the entire world. You’ll visit of the Castle (the Master House) and the see rum-making process as well as a tasting.
