THINKING EXHIBITS

2017-18 BY THE NUMBERS

This year, we welcomed our first traveling exhibit: Thinking Money. We were one of 50 libraries across the country selected to host this exhibit aimed at educating tweens, teens and their caregivers about the basics of finance.

2,557,574 ITEMS CHECKED OUT

In the six weeks the exhibit was on display, more than 4,600 patrons stopped to view and interact with the exhibit or joined a program about smart money management. “It’s important to think about my future with money,” said Alexia, age 13. “I’ll need to know how to spend my money responsibly and how I can save money so I don’t end up in debt.” “I thought the exhibit was really well done,” said Ashwin, age 18. “It covered big ideas we can all relate to, like wants vs. needs, but also got really specific and helped you understand topics like interest and financial fraud.” Thinking Money was created by the American Library Association in partnership with FINRA Investor Education Foundation.
