At 2:27 p.m. on Friday, March 13, we announced we would be closing our doors at 5 p.m. that day, and would remain closed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While this was a hard decision to make, we knew it was the right decision so that we could do our part to help keep our community safe. On a typical day, we check out about 5,500 items. On

Once you arrive, text or call us following the directions posted on the signs to let us know you’re in the pick-up area. Please stay in your car and pop the trunk. Our staff will confirm your last name and card number, then place your items in your trunk.

Resuming Home Delivery In early June, our Outreach team will resume home delivery to current outreach patrons. If you live in a private residence, you’ll receive your items in the mail. If you live in a senior living facility, we’ll resume regular deliveries. Summer Challenge: Dig Deeper Let’s read, investigate and discover this summer, all while earning badges, solving puzzles and working toward a final prize. Maya and her animal friends will lead you through fun activities to help you dig deeper into the world around you all summer long. We have a super fun Activity Book available for kids this summer. We’re especially excited about a special, online scavenger hunt our friends at The Mystery League created for us! This year, all materials are available to download at SchaumburgLibrary.org/read,, making it easy for you to participate while social distancing. You can also request to pick up these items from our new Curbside Pick-Up. Just give us a call at (847) 985-4000.
