• Go to schaumburglibrary.org/events , call (847) 923-3347 or visit any Library location

• Registration for some programs opens on specific dates.

PROGRAM DESIGNATIONS

• Central: Program held at the Central Library

• HE Branch: Program held at the Hoffman Estates Branch

• Pick-Up: Pick up supplies to complete program at home

We are so proud of our renovated space that we just have to celebrate with a party! Pick up a library passport, take photos at the selfie station and enjoy a mini “Taste of Schaumburg” from local restaurants. Visit the second floor and explore the renovated space, solve a mystery in the Local History Room, check out demos in the brand-new Innovation Hub and create a community art project.

This year-long renovation, welcomes a new, modern atmosphere in keeping with our prairie-style building, that incorporates a peaceful color-scheme. This project started in June 2023 and since it’s completion this April, many patrons have commented the space is beautiful and how much they appreciate the new look. We are especially excited to introduce Innovation Hub, a dynamic space to create innovative projects using the equipment.

Arcade Age Exhibit

Open Friday, Sept. 27 through Sunday, Jan. 5 Central Commons

The Arcade Age Exhibit masterfully restores the best and more historically important arcade cabinets to their original glory. Presented by the Cradle of Aviation and LI Retro, this groundbreaking and critically-acclaimed arcade exhibit explores the history and culture of arcade gaming. The exhibit tells the story of video arcade games; from the pioneers in the early ‘40s and ’50s to the golden age in the late ‘70s and early ’80s to its crash, revival and ultimate decline in the ‘90s.

Plus visitors can come play 12 games for free throughout the Library, including unforgettable favorites like Q*bert, Street Fighter 2 and Joust. Available during regular Library hours
