What are some hobbies/ activities you enjoy outside of work?
How long have you been working at the Schaumburg Library? In the teen department?
I have worked at the here for a year and a half. I started in the Youth Department and moved to Teen about a year ago.
What is your favorite book and/ or game to recommend? I love recommending all things, and even though I wrote this question, I cannot pick just one! Here are a few of my favorite recommendations:
• Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys – An emotional historical fiction exploring the hidden history of Lithuanians during World War II.
• When You Trap a Tiger by Tae Keller – A mysterious, middle-grade story that incorporates Korean folklore, magic and adventure.
• The Last Campfire for Nintendo Switch –Complete challenges along an adventure to bring home lost embers.
I love spending time with my dogs, Ginny and Harriet, by taking walks, learning new tricks and snuggling. I also enjoy watching dirt bike races with my partner and exploring independent bookstores and new flavors of tea.
What is a unique fact about yourself?
In 2018, I spent the summer in Dublin, Ireland, on a study abroad internship program. When I was not interning as a writer at a non-profit, I was visiting beautiful landscapes and towns as well as exploring history and literary museums!
What is a service within the Library that you want more teens to know about?
Teen Kits! The Library has 7 different teen kits available for check-out in our Library of Things that cover a range of interests, including:
• USB Microphone Set
• Raspberry Pi 4 Computer Desktop Kit
• Mental Health
• Social Justice
Each kit can be checked out for up to 2 weeks with a Schaumburg Library card. To learn about all the kits, visit schaumburglibrary.org/lot?Teen
