Vaishnavi Medikundam has proudly possessed all the library cards – child, teen and adult – since moving to Schaumburg a decade ago. Back then, she came for books, homework research, or to meet up with friends. Now, after graduating from Schaumburg Christian School and University of Chicago, she’s using the library for a different reason.
13 SCHAUMBURG TOWNSHIP DISTRICT LIBRARY • September 2021
Vaishnavi said she’s seen the library change several times over the years and really likes all the renovations. “Everything is more spread apart now, there’s more seating, and the resources are more accessible. Also, more rooms for meetings. The self-checkout is nice, too.” When she’s not working on her laptop in the Commons, Vaishnavi likes to bring her little sister to Youth Services where she can play in the Enchanted Forest. And in those rare moments when she has time to read, she still loves to come for the books.
