GET READY FOR A RENOVATION

In 2016 and 2020, we had big projects to refresh the first floor of our Central Library. Beginning in May, we’re ready to reimagine the second floor with a renovation.

Due to the size of our Library, we split our renovation projects into phases to be sure we can continue to serve you while we work on improving various areas of our building. All of these projects are part of an architectural master plan for our building that looks to accommodate the changing ways you use our Library.

It’s important to remember that our building is turning 25 years old this year and we see up to 1 million visitors each year. That’s a lot of usage and general wear and tear on our well-loved Library! So updates like this are necessary to keep our Library in working order for you.

TEEN TECH

TEEN MAKERSPACE

Central Teen Place • Wednesdays, March 1-22 & April 5 -

With this renovation of our Central Library’s second floor, we’re looking to better meet your needs with an innovation center for individuals, groups and small businesses to collaborate, discover, learn and create; more study rooms for individuals or groups to study, read or work; more restrooms; a quiet room dedicated to the local history of Schaumburg; and a variety of additional seating options.

Visit SchaumburgLibrary.org/renovation for regular updates on this project.
