'Sonder', by Barbara Haskett, is a book project created around the concept of the word, well, sonder. The concept of sonder came into being in 2012 in John Koenig's project 'The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows.' This book explores the complexity of strangers. While sonder typically refers to seeing strangers but not knowing their full story, this book creates the inverse. You do not get to see what the fifteen interviewed passersby look like, but you learn so much about them. What deep thoughts, memories, and beliefs will people tell a complete stranger? Read and find out!
