Ritika Bose Written by Alfredo B.
“You can always push yourself” My name is Ritika Bose, I’m 26 years old and I work for an IT firm. I’ve been boxing for a little over six months. Boxing was different, but I’ve been working out for over a year. I do a lot of strength training and lifting. This was a good change and it was a little difficult because it was focused on endurance. Title 2
Boxing is a very friendly place and judgement-free environment. I think the warm-ups are great and it activates you. I enjoyed the first class and I’ve always wanted to try boxing. I wouldn’t say that it was difficult finishing the class because I enjoyed it and it was different. Boxing has its own strength it requires, but on a scale between 1-10 for a beginner is around a 7 or 8. I learned more about endurance when I was boxing because I thought I was really fit and active cause I’ve been lifting so much. The third class is when I knew that I liked boxing. The first trial classes I took was boxing and the second class I took was kickboxing. I didn’t really like kickboxing so much because my feet hurt when I was kicking. The third I took, which was a boxing class, I realized I liked boxing. My routine didn’t change too much, I workout often and it’s just a different type of training.
Ugly sweater workout with Trainer Troy. (Sitting on the ground with a red sweater) Boxing is a great way to relax and it’s a great way to relieve stress. Boxing does give you a boost in confidence knowing that you are strong enough to do something like boxing. You can always push
yourself and it always feels like a new challenge. Thing that keeps me coming back is the classes because they are so fun. Also it’s motivating because you see so many people around 3
you to workout together in a class. If anybody asks if they want to get into any other activity instead of lifting I’ll always recommend boxing because it’s something you can pick up quickly and enjoy. I haven’t received a negative reaction when I tell people I box. Everybody seems very intrigued by the idea of boxing and they want to know more about it. Boxing has become a daily routine in my life, even right now during the quarantine I shadow box while following the Title page. I shadow box pretty often especially for a warm-up and sometimes in my house to warmup myself up. A combination I like to do is jab, cross, upper-cut, hook. I do sometimes have to drag myself out of the house to Title, but I always feel good when I go and push through a class. When I finish a class I always feel accomplished and also feel sometimes where I might not
finish a class, but I push through it. I do get surprised when I check my watch after class and see that I have burned 300 or 400 calories. I wouldn’t mind going in the ring with someone and trying it out. My workout routine became monotonous and because of boxing I definitely feel different. It’s a good change in lifestyle. I have thought about how far I’ve come from my first class. Over time the more you learn and the more you train the better you become. Boxing got me more into thinking about strength, endurance and the power of training.Boxing has impacted my life because it has increased my motivation and confidence. It’s been difficult because of this virus, but I follow Title Boxing page on instagram and they post these 15 minute warm-ups that I do. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back.
