Scott MacLeay, photographer, new media artist and composer, lived in France and worked in Paris & New York for 30 years before moving to Florianópolis, Brazil in 2010. His photographic work was represented by the Marcuse Pfeifer Gallery in NYC and the Galérie Créatis in Paris and was exhibited widely in private galleries and museums worldwide in the 70’s & 80’s. In 1988 he left the analogue photographic world to devote himself fulltime to composing and sound designing for contemporary dance, video art and his group Private Circus. In 1980 he founded the Photo Department at the American Center for Artists in Paris and became Director of its Center for Media Art and Photography (CMAP) in 1985, creating an avant-garde crossroads for exhibitions, festivals, co-productions, seminars and courses in the technological arts. In 1987 he founded the MMAP in Paris to continue this work. In 2004, he returned to photography and new media work founding the Creative Process in 2011 to promote the development of new media art in Brazil.
