ease of usage. Overall, the Committee found that the personnel is doing a great job of keeping the residents informed of what is available to them.
The Communications Committee knows the importance of good communication between the association and its residents. Communication is essential for the success of our HOA’s board and management and working with its residents. The Scottsdale Ranch Board of Directors has assigned the Communications Committee with determining the efficiency of Community Outreach from the Board to the community and making recommendations for improvement.
The Committee continues to send out Welcome Packets to new homeowners with information about our community as well as inviting them to an informal meet and greet, which introduces our association and what it has to offer. Our New Resident Welcome Party is also a way to meet your fellow new residents. We have developed a number of communication methods for our residents which includes meetings, bi-monthly magazines, weekly email blasts, a comprehensive website, mailed communication such as letters and postcards to inform the residents of social gatherings, clubs and groups. We hope to reach everyone; however, we are open to suggestions if SRCA is missing some preferred form of communication. There is always room for improvement.
The Committee meets at least twice a year to review the multiple avenues the association uses to communicate to our residents in order to keep them ‘in the know’ of what is going on and what is available to them around the Ranch. The Committee last met in January 2020 and had a few suggestions to enhance the website for
We are always open to new members, so do not hesitate to contact Genevieve Long at the SRCA office for further information. Genevieve is our “go to” person in the office regarding communication outlets and is a great asset to the Scottsdale Ranch community in the area of communication.
Social Committee Review By Nina Munson SRCA Social Committee Chair
Early Spring: that time of year, we all are so grateful to be living in Arizona and, especially, on Scottsdale Ranch! It’s time to open your doors and windows and let the fresh breezes in. It’s also time to enjoy the many amenities and activities Scottsdale Ranch and the community at large, have to offer to their residents, not only in the Springtime but all year long. Stroll or bike the paths at Scottsdale Ranch Park, Desert Garden or Toulane Park at 96th St., or bring your children to the newly installed playground equipment. There are many lake activities to enjoy that are accessible to our residents. Reserve a kayak, paddle boat, canoe or the SRCA pontoon boat, by stopping by the SRCA office to make a reservation or call (480) 860-2022. Reservations are required for all rentals of the SRCA lake equipment. Another activity you can enjoy at Lake Serena is fishing. You do not need to make a reservation to fish; however, you do need a card. Please stop by the SRCA office to complete a Lake Serena Membership Card Application. Gather your neighbors for a fun afternoon or evening block party by booking our FREE Party Trailer. Inside the trailer, you will find 10 six-foot tables, 75 folding chairs, pop-up canopy, charcoal

grill, coolers/tubs, and barricades/cones. Email jshepherd@ scottsdaleranch.org for requirements and guidelines, if you are interested. Participate in one of the many clubs we offer. Naming just a few are the Mom’s Club, Golf Club, Retired Active Men’s Club, Women’s Association, Chess Club, and Wine Club. In addition, throughout the year, events are sponsored by SRCA, including New Residents Welcome Party, Spring Event and Egg Hunt, Movies in the Park, Children’s Storytime, Adult Themed Dinners, Fall Carnival and Concert in the Park. As you can see, they target all age groups. For ongoing information about all of our amenities and activities, please check out our website at www. scottsdaleranch.org, our bi-monthly magazine, our weekly email blasts and our semi-annual mailers. In collaboration with our SRCA administration, we have a Social Committee comprised of volunteers throughout the Ranch who work to help identify and facilitate many of our events. We are always looking for interested residents to bring their ideas and energy for these activities and events. We also are soliciting volunteers who just want to help at an event but not be a part of the committee. It is a community team effort. Anyone interested should contact Genevieve Long at glong@scottsdaleranch.org or call the SRCA office 480-860-2022. Happy Spring, and I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
