Bob Peoples, a wonderful silversmith, was Mark’s instructor. Mark enjoys cutting stones and creating pieces of silver to give to his wife, children and grandchildren. He recommends the Silversmith Club, Clay Club and Stained and Fused Glass Club to anyone who wants to create cool things they can give away to others.

MaryAnne London displays her exquisite dichroic piece of glass art

MaryAnne has been a glass club member for only three years, yet has skillfully created this dazzling piece of art, worthy of any art gallery. MaryAnne is a modest ingenious creator. Every piece created is a pleasant experience for her. She loves to decorate and to collect art. She stays busy in SCOV as the social chair of the Pickleball Club, and just recently joined the Neighborhood Pride Committee. She loves swimming and spending time with local family. She genuinely appreciates the graciousness of our club members, who are always there when needed. MaryAnne is also willing to share her talent and lend her expertise to others. We say thanks for her loyal encouragement. For MaryAnne, life continues to be a real adventure. You are always welcome to visit our studio. We aspire to promote imagination. Ken Rosberg uncrating a new SawStop table saw

The importance of SCOV Board support for our community is well reflected in our Wood Shop. The entire Woodworking Club membership is grateful for the new state-ofthe-art shop equipment now being installed to replace decades-old equipment.

Already installed are two new commercial SawStop table saws and a new 20-inch planer. Soon to be received are a new 12-inch jointer and a smaller SawStop table saw for segments and detail work. A new lathe, table router and spindle sander are expected soon, and the dust collection system is scheduled for a professional cleaning. This commitment of both the SCOV and Woodworking Club boards has created one of the finest community wood shops in Arizona.

A new member orientation is held at the Wood Shop the first Wednesday of each month at 4 PM. Call Bill Norton at 480-980-5493 for further instructions. For questions or more information, please visit the website or call an officer.
