Seeing a couple dozen submittals each month, we can safely say that home improvements are still happening. That said, there are challenges in finding some materials, such as white roof tiles. They are no longer being produced, and the available supply is dwindling. Another example is planning to expand an existing paver patio using identical blocks. There have even been comments surrounding the availability of the slump block and scratch block that is used in our community. Luckily, product has been found, and the projects are moving forward.

If you are making plans, be aware of material availability. If it becomes difficult to find an exact match and you located a suitable alternative, reach out to the Architectural Review Committee. We can have a discussion on the option(s). There may be options that other owners have found which could provide insight for your planning.

Election Election 2023

The Election Committee is preparing for another election cycle. Ballots will be sent in mid-February. There are two Director positions to be filled. The vote will be electronic unless you have opted out of all electronic communications from the Association. If you vote by hard copy, the ballot must be mailed to the address listed on the return ballot envelope. The Association is no longer accepting ballots in the Administration office.

The “Meet the Candidate” video interviews will provide the opportunity to view and listen to the candidates. There will be a web page listed under Member Services – Vote March 2023 with information.

February plans are to have at least two forums where questions will be asked of the candidates, so you can assess their understanding of and passion for SCOV. These forums will also be available in video format on the SCOV website. If you would like to submit candidate questions for consideration by the Election Committee, please bring them to the Administration office.

More details on the candidates and initiatives will be provided as we get closer to the election.
