Work on your eye-hand coordination, speed and concentration with table tennis (aka ping pong). This is a fun sport that yields a surprisingly vigorous workout. Interested players ranging from totally unskilled to highly skilled are welcome. Possible groupings for women, men, beginners and all-play are being worked out. But anyone who shows up can give it a try. You might want to email to confirm that play is on schedule or to ask about which dates and times might suit you best. We hope you’ll join us.

SCOV women’s interclub team gears up for another great match

Welcome to the many new Tennis Club members this year. There are several new tennis opportunities in 2023, beyond club play every day of the week in the morning hours. First, there is a new Tennis Ladder Group playing on Friday afternoons at 1 PM. Ladder play is a system where you play matches against other members in your group, in order to improve your ranking. It’s fun, competitive tennis. For questions or to sign up for the ladder group, email scovmpl@ gmail.com. Another new opportunity is Competitive Tennis Play on Wednesday afternoons at 2 PM. Two courts will be reserved each week for up to eight players. Matches are intended to provide an opportunity for highly competitive, rigorous play with good sportsmanship. For questions, call Mark Lankes at 315-450-1676.

If you are interested in joining the growing Tennis Club, contact Jim Benshoof.

Wallyball is volleyball played on a racquetball court with three to five players on each side. It is fast, fun, and a great workout that tones muscles and improves coordination. Players use the walls to create angles on shots but cannot use the ceiling or back wall of the opposing team.

We welcome new members, both men and women. Come see if the game is for you. Water Volleyball Pres. Pete Coy 360-739-4100 petecoy@gmail.com VP Rich WInter 520-900-7542 richwinmaui@gmail.com Treas. This is the time of year when the seasonal residents return, and we have many folks show up for rousing games with loads of laughter. We welcome new members and those who are just checking us out. Come by and watch, but bring your suit, because you may be compelled to join in the fun. When the group is large, we expand the playing court so more folks can play at once. Even if the outside temperature is a little chilly, the pool is warm and inviting, and after you start playing, you will probably forget about the cooler air.
