We are dedicating this month of May to come together in prayer for greater wellness! To experience the energy, the vitality, the positive emotions of love, forgiveness, gratitude and acceptance. To know and experience God’s love and care. And, yes, for miracles to occur! Would you join me in three powerful prayer events this month? Details are on page 14.

On May 2 we are joining together for the National Day of Prayer. Oh, how our nation needs healing and to experience greater wellness. I am reminded of Matthew 23:37, when Jesus said, ”O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together…but you were not willing!” Our nation needs greater wellness, from Windsor Castle to every home in Canada. James Robison will join me in leading our prayer as we join with millions across North America to pray that God’s word would be lifted up and light our world with truth, love and mercy.

On May 7 we will join in prayer on National Fentanyl Awareness Day on behalf of the families and friends of those who have lost their lives to fentanyl poisoning and drug lacing. This past February, one of the most prestigious families in America lost 19-year-old Marco Troper, son of Susan Wojcicki. Easter Wojcicki, Marco’s grandmother, posted on Facebook, “our family is devastated beyond comprehension. Marco was the most kind, loving, smart, fun, beautiful human being.” The Ellison family said those exact same words in January of 2021 with the loss of our Chase! We know the horrific pain… It has happened to more than 300,000 of our young men and women in just the past three years. Please join with me and Dr. Michael Brown as we pray God’s comfort, healing and wisdom for those who hurt so deeply.

And, May 30 will be dedicated to TriVita Members’ Prayer Day! In March 2022, the House of Giving made a commitment to take on the national fentanyl epidemic by raising awareness through public service announcements (PSA) on TV and radio. We created a PSA to target parents and family members to make them aware of the crisis that’s ravaging our youth and destroying families across North America. The decision to focus on this issue was started by the loss of our own family member, Chase Michael Ellison, whose life was taken at the age of 18 from a counterfeit Xanax prescription pill laced with a lethal dose of fentanyl.

In 2022 we met our goal to have the onepillkilled PSA air on 300 radio and TV stations across the USA and Canada. In 2023 we’re happy to report that it has now aired on 660 television stations and 175 radio stations in addition to a variety of movie theaters, outdoor billboards and other alternative display ads. This includes the likes of FOX News, Trinity Broadcast Network, Lifetime Network, Harkins Theaters and more.

The PSA not only informs the viewers and listeners about the dangers of counterfeit, fentanyl-laced prescription pills, but also gives them a website (onepillkilled.org) where they can get accurate information about:

According to the Centers for Disease Control, in 2021 there were more than 70,000 fentanyl-related deaths. In 2023, that number increased to more than 112,000. The Drug Enforcement Administration reported the confiscation of more than 20 million counterfeit prescription pills laced with fentanyl. A recent update from the DEA states that in 2023 the number increased to 79.4 million, which is nearly a 300% increase.

Laboratory testing indicates that 7 out of every 10 pills seized by the DEA contain a lethal dose of fentanyl.

A Treasure from the Desert: The Nopalea Superfruit

The fruit also may be eaten raw, though it, too, has spines, and it is often used to make juice, jelly and jam.3

Resilience in the Harshest Conditions

To call this amazing plant hardy would be a considerable understatement. Not only does the nopal cactus thrive in extreme heat and drought conditions, it also survives freezing temperatures and soil lacking in nutrients.

Another name for this incredible flora is la planta de vida, or “life-giving plant,” as even its fallen leaves become new plants.4 It is prolific, able to produce fruit year round, and an old Mexican adage says, “Whoever has a nopal in his house, will never go hungry.”5

ANTIOXIDANTS Are Your Friends

What’s the story behind B12 and Alfred Libby?
