THE SET TIMES

Spiritual Weapons and Warfare

NUMBER 6, VOLUME 2

The Holy Spirit has led us again to teach on the subject of spiritual warfare. The teaching included specific emphasis on the weapons of warfare, the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4-6) and the Armor of God (Ephesians 6:11-18). There is an urgency for believers to be fully equipped, trained and on high alert as we strive to fulfill God‟s purpose and will.

We are Destined for Greatness! We must be mentally and spiritually prepared to fight against the wiles (tricks) of our enemy, the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Each piece of our armor or weaponry is vital. The Apostle Paul took the liberty and explained their function. We cannot over emphasize the importance of being skillful in the application of our mighty weapons of warfare. These weapons allow us to wage successful warfare against the Kingdom of darkness. The word “warfare” used in these scriptures comes from the word “stratos” which is where we derive the word “strategy.” Just as any army develops a complete battle plan against their enemy, likewise the Holy Spirit gives us strategic instruction that will destroy the works of the devil and give us absolute VICTORY!

By Drs. Curt and Linda Stennis Jesus gave The Great Commission to the Church, (The Body of Christ) to go into all the world to teach all nations and share the message of salvation with every person. While Jesus did not expect every born again believer to leave his family and familiar surroundings to accomplish this task, he does expect every believer to be a witness in their familiar surroundings. When this commission was spoken Jesus knew the world would continue to grow and multiply. The current world population exceeds 6 billion people. When Jesus gave the commission he knew it would take more than his original apostles and disciples. He knew it would take more than those called to the five-fold ministry. That’s why he called every born again believer to the job of sharing the gospel, (the good news of a better life) to all the inhabitants of the world. Some might think this is an impossible task considering how large the worldâ€&#x;s population is. It is possible and it can be accomplished if every believer commits themselves to this Great Commission. There need to be an urgency to work the work of

Him that has sent us while it is day (John 9:4) because the Harvest is truly plenteous! Did you know every second 1.68 people die? Every hour 6,048 people and every day 145,000 people die. Because people accept Christ at different points in their lives it is needful to be ready to share Jesus Christ at all times.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations (Matthew 28:19) Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15) And ye shall receive power‌ and ye shall be witnesses unto me. (Acts 1:8)

When Jesus spoke this Commission not only did he know the world would grow and multiply, he knew the world of technology would increase creating more avenues to evangelize. We have more tools at our finger tips, in our hands, on our jobs and in our businesses than the New Testament believers could have ever dreamed or imagined. The Apostle Paul traveled to more cities and nations than anyone in the Bible and he did it by ship, by colt and by foot. Today, those of us who take the Gospel to the nations do it through the airline industry and we reach our destination safer and faster than the Apostle Paul. Television and radio have long been effective tools to publish the gospel. Short wave radio remains an effective tool also in many third world countries. Other technological tools like the World Wide Web enable anyone with a computer to (Continued on page 17)

The Year 2007 began with our Annual New Year/Victory Sunday Service on Sunday, January 7. In this service our unity is shown by our wearing of clothes that include the color gold. There was excitement and enthusiasm as Drs. Stennis preached, shared prophetic insight for the year and anointed every one in attendance. Page 6—The Set Times

This is the Year of Glory. There is a Greater Glory coming upon the Body of Christ. There is a Greater Glory upon this house. There is a Greater Glory coming into your life.

A few weeks ago I had a dream in which I found myself inside a dry river path. I was cleaning the path and its corners when suddenly I heard the voice of God asking me why I was doing the cleaning inside the path. He said, “I was suppose to destroy the dam of rocks and wood which is blocking the flow of water, not cleaning the path.” When the dam is destroyed, then the flow of water (which represents the anointing of the Spirit) will clean the path. Thus, I want to show you how you can remove the dam of wood and rocks that are hindering the flow of the Spirit in your life.

the priest consecrated themselves? Not one, nor two or three, but all who were there. Thus, we all have to consecrate ourselves. The word used in the passage for consecration is the Hebrew word qadash which is found in Exodus 32:29 and it means to clean, to consecrate, to dedicate, to purify, to be holy. The textual Bible reads, “And it happened as the priests were going from the sanctuary for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves.” We need to dedicate our lives to the Lord. We need to mature. We need to stop sinning. Jesus did it already for us, He conquered sin. It is through Him we have victory over sin. But if we want to enter into another level of worship which destroys the power of the enemy, and the dam, which is stopping the flow of the Holy Ghost in our life, we need to consecrate completely to the Lord.

When we go to Scripture – which is the final revelation of God – we find the answer for everything we go through in life. Through the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit gives us principles we can apply to every situation. II Chronicles 5 provides various principles on how to allow the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

The second thing you have to do is to worship in the Spirit and truth. II Chronicles 5:13 expresses, “He is good; His love endures forever.” It doesn‟t say His mercy endures forever like in the book of Exodus, but it concentrates in the character of God, His love, a kind of love that endures forever.

Solomon wanted to bring the Ark of the Covenant to the Temple. The Ark of the Covenant is a representation of God‟s Glory; it is the manifestation of the Holy Ghost. Solomon knew how to handle and bring forward the presence of God. He established it in the temple with praise and worship.

True worship is rooted in God’s love! Before his manifestation comes upon our lives, His Spirit reveals Himself as a God of Love. If we want to touch Him, we are to approach Him in True Worship, which is an overflow of God’s love from our heart to His. Then He will come in a very visible manner to dwell in our mist. “Then the temple of the Lord was filled with a cloud, and the priest could not perform their service because of the glory of the Lord filled the temple of God” (2 Chr. 5:13-14).

If you want to remove and destroy the dam of woods and rocks, which is stopping and blocking the flow of the presence of God in your life, you need to worship in Spirit and in truth. But in order for you to worship at this level, you have to do two things. First, you have to consecrate yourself. Verse 11 says, “The priest then withdrew from the Holy Place. All of the priest who were there had consecrated themselves, regardless of their divisions” (NIV). My question for you is how many of

This is genuine worship, and there is power in genuine worship for God abides in it. God pours out his Spirit and give us power, strength, and anointing to do His works. Just as in Pentecost, His Spirit will fall upon us, He will come upon us, He will baptize us, and He will fill us. The Glory of (Continued on page 17)

High Ankle Sprain Healed

Thank you for the weekly outreach and Brother Robert and the chaplains at the Boot Camp that encourage us to pursue a relationship with the Lord. I‟ve now accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Brother Robert has an effective method of teaching which has caused me to focus on my future. If it wasn‟t for this weekly inspiration my mentality would still be focused on the streets. The Bible study time is the most exciting time in here. I am changing into the man God wants me to be. Thank you again. I really do appreciate your help.

I came to the January 14 service suffering from a high ankle sprain. My visit to the doctor had resulted in the ankle being placed in a walking ankle brace. After receiving the special prayer cloth I returned to my seat and placed it inside the ankle brace. Immediately I felt a warm sensation on my ankle. My ankle was healed instantly by the power of God. I was able to remove the brace and walk pain free. Thank God for the prayer cloth! J. Collier, Chicago

G. Gonzales, Chicago Throat Cancer Healed Couldn’t Straighten Toe Due To Nerve Damage Two surgeries in 2006 to correct severe bone disease in my legs resulted in nerve damage causing my big toe to be permanently bent. After receiving the Prayer cloth from Drs. Curt and Linda Stennis I went back to my seat and began to rub the cloth. I stood up and noticed the toe was now straight. The toe had been bent for over a year since the last surgery. My miracle came right on time since I was due to return to school in two weeks to complete my senior year and graduate June 1.

I remember you came to Africa (Uganda) in 2005 for the conference on Sunday you attended a church service at Christ Glorious Church (Tom Godwin, Pastor). I was suffering so much with throat cancer. You spoke a word of knowledge that God was healing somebody of a throat condition. I got healed in that service and since then I am still healed! I just want to thank God for your prayers and I want to be part of your promise partners. Please come to Kapchorwa, Uganda once more to encourage us. Apolo Chemandwa, Uganda

J. Hughes, Chicago

Sudden Muscle Spasms Healed We were at our church celebrating for the New Year 2007. I was fine the whole day. By the end of the night, I caught a muscle spasm in the calves of both legs. They were so painful I couldn‟t walk. I rubbed my prayer cloth on each leg and moments later the pain was gone. T. Tobar, Chicago

share the gospel with people from other cities and around the world.

God, the cloud of Yahweh will come down upon the place and you won’t be able to do anything else but to worship, and worship, and worship.

In 1995 there were only 18,000 websites and now there are over 100 million. The internet when used properly is a great way to reach souls around the globe right from your own home or business. According to The Barna Update 1 of 5 people accept Jesus through a friend. Friendship is a very powerful avenue to share your faith. A specific testimony will draw people to Jesus. Many of us who serve Christ today do so because a friend cared enough to tell us about the best thing (Salvation) that ever happened to them.

The Glory of God will fall down upon this church in such a way that many people would not be able to stop crying. Many will run to the altar to humble themselves in the presence of God. Oh yes, many will come bound by alcohol, drugs, sin and God will deliver them even in their seats! I come tonight as a Prophet of the Most High God, Jesus Christ of Nazareth to place the Ark of the Covenant in its rightful place. This church, which is known as an oasis will also be known as a House of Revival in the city of Chicago!

Friends are people we already have some kind of relationship with. They are people who will usually listen to us, so our first mission field should be our friends and loved ones. Jesus has commissioned and called us all. He said, “The harvest is ripe but the laborers are few.” Together let us expand the Kingdom of God.

I pray this in Jesus Name. Amen.
